I also want to note that she’s doing an amazing job navigating the world of today while having Asperger’s! Just beautiful. I’m in awe.
@TrueMiThompson2 жыл бұрын
No she’s not doing a great job! She’s homeless with a innocent baby on the streets,post pandemic with a baby and mental illness. There’s more to this story why she’s not living with family or why they’re not interacting with her. Let’s be real would you be proud of this accomplishment if she was your daughter?
@FreeSpiritMom2 жыл бұрын
@@TrueMiThompson correction, she has a disability! Anyways, we all are entitled to our opinions. Respect mine! I’m homeless, live in my car with my daughter who has a disability according to the state of Georgia. I am DAMN proud! Obviously there is more to the story. We can’t pack her whole existence into a 20 minute video. Family is usually most people first downfall! People assume that if someone family isn’t helping them then it’s that said persons fault. Such a weird conclusion to me. And I would be proud of my daughter! It’s not about your situation, it’s about what you’re doing with it! As someone who has worked with children on the spectrum and know first hand how hard it is, this young woman is navigating with a good head on her shoulders! This is PART of her story not the end! But y’all rather be negative and judge. Have a good day Ms Rough

Rom 1:16 The gospel 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (3) ...how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: If you believe the gospel (1 Cor 15:3-4), that Jesus Christ, who is God, died for all your sins (past, present and future), He was buried and He rose again, Putting all your faith (trust) in the blood He shed to save you (without trusting your own self righteousness - no works), solely believing on Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross alone for salvation, You are saved & sealed the very moment you believe (Ephesians 1:13, 4:30 KJB) 1 John 5:13 - ...ye may KNOW ye have eternal life... That means that any family with kids who loses their home would end up going to jail and have their kids put in Foster care!!! Way to go !!! IT'S TIME that we, the people stood up to the politicians who make the rules!!! Sorry but enough is enough. HOW COME THE UNITED STATES has MONEY for wars but totally ignores the homeless, the hungry; our veterans who served this country but are homeless and are in wheelchairs because they lost their legs fighting wars the politicians created!!! People they are taking mo ey and lining their own pockets. They use the Medicare system to victimize old people by telling them they have diseases when they don,'t. WE NEED TO STAND UP AS A PEOPLE and make these politicians accountable to us for why they do nothing about the working , disabled, people on social security. Go on U Tube and type in "HOMELESS in San Francisco" See how bad it is there. People we are turning into a 3rd world country. Even the United Nations asked Washington DC why America was turning into one big slum. This is happening in other countries like Italy, Sweden and Germany ,etc. Of all people the Muslim immigrants in Sweden have taken pity on the homeless in Stockholm, Sweden and now serve meals to the homeless there. Amsterdam and Venice are 2 other cities people x annot afford a place to live. PLEASE petition the United Nations to send Every country funds and aid. That will not be administered by the fat cats who will take it from the poor

This bill will make camping on any public property across the state of TN a felony offense punishable up to 6 years. Camping includes Sleeping outside of a motor vehicle or making preparations to sleep outside of a motor vehicle, including laying down a sleeping bag, blanket, or other material used for bedding. The bill, SB 1610, would also create a Class C misdemeanor to panhandle, or ask for money, with a $50 fine and 20 to 40 hours of community service work, picking up trash on the highways and interstates. There are approx 20,000 homeless in Nashville, many of which are children. The Section 8 housing list has around a 2 year wait, and an average 1 bedroom apartment in Nashville starts at around $1400 a month.

My son has worked since he was 17, he’s NEVER been fired, lord knows I worked with him endlessly to build his confidence and skill set. Trust me you can work a job, may take time finding the right fit but just keep at it, if they fire you, so what, keep trying… she can work and still keep her disability she just has to stay under a monthly threshold.. in the US you can’t gross from a job more than $1,350 a month.

Mark, great interview. Sad she lost three babies...& still being homeless. She's very well spoken. One wouldn't think she's disabled. I suppose looks are deceiving. Mark I really hope she can get housing. The streets are dangerous enough but a single woman & baby living in a tent is unimaginable. Her story touched us all. 🙏🙏🙏🍀❤️

If she has SSDI she could get a job. And also priority housing because she has a disability and she has a baby. The shelters she is going to are not doing their jobs. This woman needs supervision, and guidance daily. Without the supervision to ensure daily stability she could be sabotaging herself. Meaning she presents well in this moment, but off camera in her everyday life she may not be functioning this "together". She may have had support, but when you present well, without the true cognitive abilities to carry out executive functions you truly become your own barrier every step of the way. Some people are disabled, but not disabled enough for continuous support... But they also aren't functioning well enough to sustain stability. It's an awful position to be in.

Gotta love policy and broken systems. I interned at a shelter for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors last year, and shelter policy was you could only stay 90 days, but have the option for an additional 120 days if you meet criteria. I was counseling a client that just had a newborn baby, and was tasked with being the one to tell her they were kicking her and her 3 week old baby out since she also wasn't eligible for an additional 120 days-- again because of policies-- not attending individual/group counseling, case management, completing chores, attending meetings/completing chores etc. Her mental health was so bad and she fled from an ex in another state who tried to strangle her I don't blame her for not being able to keep up with all of the policies. Oh and there were about 4 or 5 empty rooms, one of which she could have stayed in if it weren't for the shelter policies. Thankfully she ended up connecting with one of her cousins and found a place.
