Always look forward to these videos! One suggestion I have about showing the times info after the races is - if a time is overridden (e.g. you set a new series PB) the time could be shown in a different colour like in yellow or something? Would be nice as then we could see at a glance whether you or your competitors beat a time in that race! (Which is usually the info I want to see when looking at the timings anyway!)

Cool series, looking forward to watching more of this! I love seeing the custom tracks showcased side-by-side with Nintendo tracks cause they don’t look out of place these days. I remember testing the first port of GCN Rainbow Road with MKDasher back when most tracks were very rectangular and flat, drawn in mspaint, and Mushroom Peaks was the coolest thing we’d ever seen.

18:46 for this shortcut you want to drift as far to the left as possible so you can get the best angle for the next drift, there's no fall boundary at all except for way below the stage I think so you can cut it as tight as you want

25:05 here you went off probably the steepest portion of the rail which isn't mitigated by double hopping. You can prevent that from happening every time if you jump at the rail at the right time to land on the flattest trickable portion and delay tricking, but it's weird because the hitbox seems really harsh and the timing for getting low air is 100% different between the first and second escalators, you have to hop way earlier for the 2nd escalator and way later for the 1st

Nice episode. I have a question: I noticed there are often some time differences between the result that is told you by your game and the result you note as series PB (for example peach beach). Is this due to some inexact time measuring in the game due to internet delay/lag while some server/host data you can access online? Or did Nick do a mistake here? Who is actually the host for online games in retro rewind and wiimfi? Player number 1 or are there dedicated Servers? Sorry for the dumb questions. I watch mkwii for a few years now with big interest, but I actually never played it.

I'm really confused about the shroomless shortcut on lakeside park as well. What even are the inputs? Release drift, wheelie, hop? I've tried a lot of different methods but nothing seems to work consistently. Grinding retro rewind myself so feeling motivated to give it another go after watching race 1
