My buddy's mom discovered her two oldest children had been growing a metric pantload of marijuana on a relatively inaccessible section of their farm - she found many garbage bags worth of weed drying in the loft of the barn. (Medical marijuana was not a thing at the time, and this quantity would be a "you're going to jail forever" kind of felony.) That weekend, she sent all the kids off to the local amusement park for the day; when they got home, there was a big burned circle in the middle of the front yard that smelled like diesel & marijuana. She asked the two oldest to clean up the ashes and seed & straw the burned spot, but that was it - she never said another word about it.

Rather or not you agree with it being worth the time to prosecute, or if it's a law that should be on the books is one thing. But they did violate the law, and according to the video put out by the local news they never argued that they didn't do what they were accused of, just that what they were accused of shouldn't be a law.

Heads up, most boat companies will hide an extra VIN somewhere on or in the boat that the owners don't know about. It will often be hidden under the driver's, or passenger's, dash/console or under the trim they place around the boat where the top and bottom shells meet.

You're 100% correct on that, if they take the time to break down the boat or do a good check of the dash and trim they'll for sure find a VIN to give them the answer to the who owns it question! They do that specifically for cases like this where a boat is used in an illegal activity or dumped I believe don't they?

Thank you for your service in keeping Utah beautiful. I literally live three blocks away and its unfortunate to see what has become of Seven Peaks (old Raging Waters). The parking lot and that little loading ramp area has been the frequented by squatters and all types of sketchy people. I took a boat to the landfill in the early 90's, didn't cost me a dime. Now with money grubbing local county and state turds in office, it would cost at least 150, 200$. Most of these "officials" are move ins with this, "oh we generated revenue for this and this back where I come from." Now the public lands have become landfills.

Love you guys, your sense of humor is on par with mine. The jokes you come up with are as corny/funny as my own, you rock! The engine in that boat should be taken apart completely, so the water can drain out, and the cylinders and bearings can be examined to see how much rust there is. NOT interested in the online game, or any new vehicle, I'd get really interested in a restored Bronco II or S10 though.

Hi Heavy D, was the engine on that boat a Land-Rover petrol (Gas) one and the inboard - outboard drive a Volvo Penta? That was a regular rig for run-abouts of that era. It is possible that the boat itself is a Fletcher maybe designed by Pinin Farina the designer of the original Leyland Mini cars etc.. If you still have the boat, run your hands along the sides of it and see if you get a white powder on your hand. Early fibre-glass boats up until about 1966 suffered from Austio - Porosis similar to Austio - Arthritis in human beings. The gear and throttle controls might be Morse single lever, so that could help you find out roughly how old it is. If you decide to do it up, the best paint would be Aluminium Tetrochromide. Hope this helps with tracing it.
