I'm trying to learn hebrew. A few years ago I realized my mom gave me a 'middle' name that is a hebrew letter. She doesn't know hebrew but she also managed to give me an americanized version of a hebrew first name and proceeded to givee another that is a hebrew letter. 😂 What in the world? I wonder if God or an angel thought it was funny.

the letter כ does the "kh" sound, not "k" sound. it needs to have the dot in it to do the "k" sound. same thing goes to ך. it cant do the sound "k" at all! also thise letter: מ/ם is called mem not men. also this letter: ף is called feh, not peh and צ/ץ is called "tsadi" not "sad" (the narrator is also wrong but calling it "tsadik" in day to day languege is verry common so whatever)

Possible typo, though I am very much just starting out with Hebrew: I'm seeing multiple sources state that the symbol for ghaf (alternately "khaf") should have no dagesh whereas the symbol for kaf should have a dagesh.

I dont understand this. I am an intermediate religious and divine language scholar but why God design a language that has so many interchangeable sounds that are impossible to differentiate? On other hand, Arabic has no interchangeable sounds and each letter has a specific gematria and pronunciation. Have we just forgotten the pronunciation of the Torah or something like that?
