In his simplicity, clarity, humility, goodness, and faith, he has clearly followed God's bidding to "be still and know that I am God." Jeremiah 17:9 states that the heart of man is deceitful and beyond cure, and cannot be understood by anyone. This verse is often interpreted as a warning against greed and selfishness, as well as the dangers of pursuing wealth without a rightful purpose.0 The KJV translation emphasizes the importance of a high throne as a place of sanctuary, while the NIV and ESV translate it as "deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?"

A collaboration with Scott Hahn would be an epic episode! Will be waiting as patiently as possible for that day to come :)
@ijf87002 жыл бұрын
Scott Hahn is an apologist for the novelties of the Novus Ordo, not the fullness of Catholic Tradition. Unfortunately, it would be a regression in this conversation. I believe a Traditionalist, or sympathiser thereof such as Archbishop Vigano, would be a better selection to advance the topic of conversation at hand.
@EpoRose12 жыл бұрын

@ijf87002 жыл бұрын
@CJ P. Your pugnacious comment is unwarranted. As is your jejune defence of Dr. Hahn. You clearly misinterpret my comments.
@ijf87002 жыл бұрын
@CJ P. Sir, you do not know who I am, nor do I know you. So I'll reiterate that your hostility is unwarranted, and I am not attempting to feign, claim, or wield superiority through my lexicon. I am merely speaking in the interest of advancing Dr. Peterson's discourse on the encroachment of Modernism and the more destructive tendencies of Liberalism into culture at-large, and the need for a return to traditional societal and religious principles. There is, perhaps, no greater bastion of tradition than Traditional Roman Catholicism. I am suggesting that Dr. Hahn as a guest would be commensurate with Bishop Barron and other Catholics that Dr. Peterson has already had at-length discussions with, in terms of modern Catholic worldview and Novus Ordo apologetics. If you listen again to Dr. Peterson's discussion with Bishop Barron from about one year ago, there is a clear acknowledgement and admission that the modern church has been inadequate in supplying 'adventure' and 'objective beauty' in worship and Catholic life since Vatican II. The Bishop (expectedly and understandably) circumvented the core issues in terms of the liturgical and traditional destruction that ensued. I am well acquainted (though not personally) with Dr. Hahn, his work, Franciscan University, and old St. Pete's down in town. I am not just blindly attacking or condemning someone, as you are doing to me. I am saying, that in order to further Dr. Peterson's discussion, it would be best to speak with a member of the clergy that stalwartly clings to the pre-conciliar Church and Her unchanged teachings. For years I’ve followed these talks, and it’s not that Dr. Hahn would be unsuitable to discuss such things, it’s that the discussion would be repetitive or superfluous considering the full course of conversation that has already transpired. This is not personal to Dr. Hahn or a condemnation of his personal beliefs. It is simply to do with this long journey of discussions Dr. Peterson has had. Again, Archbishop Vigano would be ideal, or a member of an outside Traditionalist group's clergy. Though you may not agree with it, I hope you can understand my view for what it is. Please know that I mean no offence. God bless you.

What a great introduction to Dr. Peter Kreeft. I can't wait to read one of his 80 books (Incredible). Incredibly humble man, reminds me to follow men and women who do not proclaim they have all the answers. Humility. And as for JP, business as usual : )

Professor Kreeft is so mentally sharp! I can only hope to live as he does in my 80s. God willing, I WILL make it there. 🙏🏼

A beautiful discussion between two intellectual giants of our time. Thanks to you both, listening just makes me want to do better. I'm a 58 year old theology undergraduate (part time) who has been inspired by both of you.

How could you hate this man. Jordan is literally a light in the darkness of this modernist society. He doesn't try to push ideas upon people, rather he presents them and discusses them with his guests, providing an enlightening experience both mentally and spiritually.

Dr. Peter Kreeft wrote the best book (in English) on Logic (“Socratic Logic”); Dr. Jordan Peterson wrote the best books (again in English) on Logic of life (“Maps of Meaning”). Amazing discussion! Bless you both! Very exciting and very edifying!

What a joy this dialogue was between 2 of the greatest thinkers today! One a consummate Catholic apologist, the other a great psychologist of our time on a sincere quest for an understanding of God. How I long for a series of these two great men delving into the turbulent issues of our day. This is well worth any contemplative person’s attention.

Dr Kreeft is one of the most deeply intelligent men alive second only to Pope Benedict. I’m so glad for this conversation, I only wish we had heard more from him , but he’s too noble a soul to push himself forward. Such a treat thank you dr. Peterson .
