Unless we get the weapon active and then get attacked by the Illuminate, a big battle over the weapon starts and in the conflict the weapon either malfunctions, self destructs or overheats (idk) and instead the planet itself gets torn to pieces by it. We don't get to use it but it leaves a mark on the galaxy with one planet completely obliterated off the map because of it. Basically the Helldivers 2 version of The Fall of Cadia.

Well, i doubt it Our current orders are to allow the Terminids to re-populate, and instead focus on the Troost deep-space broadcast, with quite some insinuation that after Troost, we’ll be given orders to finally finish off the Automatons I imagine that the Automatons are trying to contact someone, or something else, maybe just a Jupiter Brain that commands the Automatons, maybe an unknown faction But I can see the Automatons making a mad dash toward cyberstan, which will then introduce the Illuminate, who will attempt to use their planet destroying weapon on whatever planet currently has the highest number of boots on the ground, only to realize it doesn’t work as intended, then “lose” to super earth and let them fuck something up

I think once we reach cyberstan (not conquered, but reach it) they appear from the bottom of the map.
