As a Native Cape Verdian living in the states, thank you so much for showing me my hometown again after all these years. Your video brought back so many childhood memories of growing up in Mindelo. During the drone shot i saw my high school, my mother's job, the football field me and my brother used to play, the park where I broke my wrist skateboarding(lol) and many more. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.

Happy belated birthday to Malin. Diod in Swedish is Diode in English. In fact this one is probably what we would call a Likriktardiod in Swedish. :) Nice to see your first shots from Cape Verde. Looking forward to more. Someone mentioned FtLauderdale being a good spot to Haul-out. I reckon they can come buy the parts needed easily but also costs of most things in the US is high. Wanna go lower price I would aim for Venezuela or perhaps Cuba - those guys are good at fixing things too. Want something more westerly.... Curacao. I fully agree with you about the fixing things. It's such a pity that such art is slowly disappearing. I thought it was a hefty price for a generator. You could probably have mail ordered a new one for €200 including freight and customs from Europe. Keep up the good work, Delos and La Vagabonde has got some serious competition. Magnus Falköping

As usual I enjoy watching your videologs. They are as others mentioned defiantly up to par or even better than Sailing Delos, La Vagabonde and Gone with the Wynns.I also noticed that during the time you sailed and recorded video you have even gotten better at it. Keep up the good work and you will soon have 200 000 followers.

The great bald Swedish hunter!!! Love it! The look does suit you, sorry Malin :-) When it comes to boat repairs, there is plenty of second-guessing and helpful people. I've had plenty of advice and hindsight on my own boat. But at some point, one just has to make a decision and move forward. It's your boat, and only you can decide what is right for you. Thanks again for sharing your adventure and producing another wonderful video.

As always, a very good video though not long enough. Happy belated birthday and many more. Repair is always better as you get to know the systems on your boat as well as saving on the costs. Good sailing on the crossing and finding a good yard to continue your repairs.

Great videos! To keep flies completely under control you just cut a 1.5-litre plastic bottle on the top and tape it down so the top part is pointing down into the middle of the bottom part and tape the sides tight (gaffa). Then add two parts water, two parts of wine vinegar (the brown one) and some dish soap and shake it up a bit. The flies will be attracted to the vinegar smell and get trapped by the soap. I think you even can make one that hangs in a line to follow the boat movements. Good luck.

I wondered if they disconnected the battery when you had your anchor fitting welded several episodes ago. Because if you do not disconnect the battery when you do welding it can damage the diodes in the voltage regulator for your alternator!

Diode is the same in English. it's pronunciation is a bit different. It's the part of the alternator used the reverse flow of electricity in an AC producing alternator. It's usually contained with the bridge rectifier. Making AC usable to a DC system. So instead of a sine wave it looks like a smooth line of current...when viewed on an oscilloscope. Thanks Nikola Tesla! Great video!

Hey happy birthday Malin..! I heard that Venezuela is got some of the best skilled labor and the cheapest prices in the Caribbean... however politically right now it sucks... another option that I think is really good would be Cuba… It's really opened up to tourism…and things can be shipped to you from the States (USA) if you need something that you can get there… It's very inexpensive and beautiful… But I would check around using the sailing forums... to figure out the best place... anyway, wishing you the best… Keep in touch with any questions etc...Peace, Captain Rob SV Blue Tequila saying
