@@JohnKim-wx6vt no clue. Yeah they ride them but that's based on irritating them (hold open the skin flaps with hooks). Paul in this scene I feel like is fulfilling that one part of the prophecy of "He will know the ways of the desert " like he's SO connected to it that he's basically the environment in and of itself, and therefore can't be perceived by the worms as a person, any more than the wind.

It is a rocky area, so no sandworms. And the sandworm behind Paul is the one he rode there, so it's tired. Once the worm is tired you simply roll down as the worm will just bury.
@throwawayinternetrp4 ай бұрын
The Sandworm in this scene might not just be there for simple dramatic effect, assuming it's not the one Paul arrived in. It could be that footsteps summoned it there, since Paul wasn't sandwalking here, but his foresight probably helped him avoid danger in some way or another. If that's the case, imagine what the Fremen's impressions were, seeing this man ignoring every precaution, and yet never being at risk. It was almost one of Paul's ways of demonstrating power, stating that nothing could touch him now, even the Shai Hulud
@trenhen43114 ай бұрын
The sandworm is how he got there no? His lax towards the sandworm was probably done with intent of subjugating them. Like u said they’d be in their heads thinking “holy fuck even shai halud bows to this man” which would further his agenda of ruling of their will.
