I'm sure a lot of the contestants, like a lot of other people, have this impression that all he does is scream, but he only screams at the people who need it and pretty much only yells at them to get them to do better because they are better. You know it was difficult for Gordon to send you home when he tells you to keep your jacket.

Sterling may not have won the competition, but he 100% won all of Ramsey's respect. He left with his jacket on instead of having to give it up, to my knowledge that's something that hasn't been done in Hell's Kitchen at all.

one other contestant also got to keep their jacket. she injured her ankle yet continued to be a team player and earned gordon’s respect, outperforming many of her peers who weren’t injured. when she was eliminated, she actually volunteered herself because she felt she was too much of a burden and the pain was too much to keep tolerating under the hell’s kitchen conditions. gordon encouraged her to keep cooking and told her to keep her jacket. i forgot what her name was unfortunately
