HEMI ENGINE FAIL TO START RED LIGHTING BOLT ENGINE LIGHT FIX

Was driving the hemi jeep when all of a sudden bam warning light pops up with the red lightening bolt and check engine light. Then few moments later loss of power steering and engines off. i managed to coast it to coast it into a gas station and do some trouble shooting. First was throttle body reset and physically see the throttle body is actuating and moving. After that i did a bd2 read and seen it was the map sensor throwing error. I disconnected the manifold absolute pressure low and then high so i removed the plug as i show in the video and started the vehicle. It started after the second try and ran horrible but at least the vehicle started. Replaced the map sensor and let it idle for a bit and everything was fixed. So if you have a lightening bolt and check engine light and the engine goes to start and turns off definitely try these steps. If your vehicle starts but the engines acting or sounding horrible recalibrate throttle body and if its actuating perfect then could be a map senor. worst case scenario you might have a short your need to chase or a bad throttle pedal.

Hey Rich I’ve been thinking about swapping my 3.6 to the 5.7 hemi and keeping my nag1. How have you liked your build so far? Is it able to be daily driven? Are you considering an 8-speed trans swap or is the nag1 holding up great?

I am loving the build so far, to be honest, I like the NEG one but I still believe I’m going to end up with the eight speed later on

@@ghostlyrich I’m only keeping the nag1 to be more budget friendly. I still plan on crawling occasionally but my Jeep is also my work car that I sometimes use to haul stuff. Does your nag1 sometimes lag when shifting or does it still work like stock? I only ask this because you’re the only KZbinr I found reusing the stock transmission. The 8speed seems great but if the stock transmission still works fine then I won’t replace it. What are your thoughts on the current set up?

It makes the check light go away when I do the gas pedal for 20 but what’s the cause of this? I have 3200 miles on my build. Thanks to you rebuilding was super easy. I almost copied your build exactly but couldn’t wait minimum of 3 months for a cam. I’ve had this light pop on twice now. Last time I reset it with my scanner this time I reset it with the pedal. I also have a pedal commander but I’ve had it off because I burn through fuel like crazy. I’ve only used it as instructed never while driving or while the engine is running. I know it’s easy to blame the pedal commander but I’m having the issue again without the pedal commander. As well as I’ve put my tune back to factory. So no tuning going on and it’s still popping up. Any way to test this system outside of live data? Obviously is there is a communication issue live data won’t be reliable correct?

It could be that your throttlebody is on its way out if you have to keep resetting the throttle body. If you can pick one up from your local scrapyard, I would try that and see if it fixes the issue.

Means throttle body probably had a glitch if it continues pull the intake and see if throttle bodys the culprit

Red lightening bolt on dash?? Have you had a chance to read it with a code reader??

I did P0340. It stopped while running. Checked gas, battery and nothing
