I love that you sit as a family at the dinner table and the kids eat with “adult” plates and cutlery. Lately all I see on KZbin are moms giving their children dinner on baby dishes. Even the husband! I firmly believe they learn dinner etiquette very young. Once learned they carry it with them.

I didn’t realize that it was such an oddity for families to sit together to have a Dinner. My family did it when I was a child. My husband and our children did it as a family, my daughter and her family do also. When my children were in there teens and a friend of my daughters was having dinner with us, she asked if we all sat down to dinner every night as a family. My answer was, yes how else would we all eat ? She said, her Mother did cook, but everyone served up there own platters and then just ate where ever they wanted. I don’t like that idea. We sit and talk together as a family. Talk about our day, or what we have going on in our week.

@pattwittingham I agree 💯 percent. When I was growing up those words were part of our vocabulary. If not used, especially in a situation like that, we would be punished. Now I often get told I don’t need to say it so much. However my children & grandchildren know these words $ how much meaning they have.
