Hi Loz. That motor will be the same frame size as your old one. Fantastic little grinder in great condition also I noticed your lathes so quiet compared to mine. You'll have to rig yourself a dust extractor for your grinder now. I'd change the belt, it's worth it. Like to see it working some more. I'm Jealous to death......

Thanks Tony, got my 36 grit wheels in today and tried them out, brilliant ! gives a great finish on a slow pass and the steel only warm to the touch just got to rig up the mist spray, also got another smaller chuck coming so I can take a pass over it and get it all dead true. ill do a video on it.

I found light and fast considerably dropped the surface temps and increased the finish, maybe 2 or 3 thou passes and 5thou on cross feed. Misting did nothing for hogging and I made a flood system instead. Theres a few clips on my insta(same name) showing it as I had a few people asking me my setup. Hope this helps a bit 👍

Hi mate, cheers will check it out, ill be able to work it out better when the coarse wheels arrive
@DaMainMouse5 жыл бұрын
@@LozHarrop yes mine is 36g I believe, you can still get the finish with a slower final cut anyway, keeping a sharp edge to the stone is key if not neccessity for a good finish, also when dressing the wheel you want a coarse pass for the final pass to leave almost a spiral in the stone, this keeps it from gumming up as easily.

Thanks bud, mental note taken

.001 or .002 cut works more then that heats the stone and the stone can blow up with to deep of a cut coolant running on stone is a big plus. Good job take care mate
