Nice machine. I was wondering where all your chaps were when you were unloading...I'm sure they will show up when it is up and running! Nice driveway too.

Holy Moly Mate! I love your grinder. The size looks perfect - not too big - yet heavy duty. The action on each of the turn wheels looks great. So, I have grinder envy for sure. This will certainly make easier work of making damascus. Congratulations my friend, cheers!

Shame about the motor Lee, I’ve been told in the past not to put a 240 volt on a grinder if you want a really good finish, it’s to do with the vibration from the motor, three phase is much smother , be nice to see how you get on with though. Regards Alan.

Thanks Alan, yes hopefully it will be ok, damn thing is so solid I doubt any vibration could travel

I didn't know that. I was going to change my Clarkson tool and cutter grinder motor over but now I'll just fit an inverter. Thanks for that.

You should look into doing a belt conversion ever since I converted mine to belts i have been so blown away with it faster material removal and better surface finishes

I have a surface grinder on my 2x72 which works great problem is the cost of the belts in the UK i use 2 different belts for each billet i grind, and pretty much shot after that

Lovely little surface grinder for the small workshop, feeling envious. If you ever get the chance of an Elliot OO Omni Mill take a look, very versatile machine, my gunsmith has one. Missed a cheap one just a few miles from my home, did some cussing for a while!

I have a Harbor Freight mill I've had for over 10 years. It's been very reliable. Never used a surface grinder
