My guilty pleasure is my father-in-law's 1968 Nissan (Datsun) Pickup. Hopelessly underpowered, the gearbox takes about a week to shift so whatever revs you've been able to muster are gone before it slides into a gear, half the trim has fallen off and the fuel pump tends to overheat, and it jumps around in a cartoonish manner. Oh, and the steering, you just try to point in a general direction you want to go. Three-point turning is worth an hour's cardio. I should hate this car, and yet I find it so endearing and fun.

Kia Carnival is in the vein of a good minivan, which folks put down as a soccer mom car or what not but they carry a ton of stuff in relative comfort, easy to load, lots of them have features like fold away storage, easy to maneuver, so I get that. Hummer EV also a great pick, and it's miles per gallon equivalent on highway is the same as a Ford Maverick hybrid, which is just terrible for an EV, the F150 Lightning has about 50% better efficiency...the F150 lightning! But the Hummer is what is was designed to be. I think my picks would be a Chevy SSR, it's a convertible truck that's not too good at either but looks super cool, or maybe like a Challenger Demon 170, which I think they measure gallons per mile instead of miles per gallon on it.😅

(Yes, the auto GR 86 and MX-5 count in this case) Because they are just so weird, they go so hard against the essence of their name yet, each of their brands still try with all seriousness to make something fun, and I kinda love them for that quirkiness 😂

My biggest guilty pleasure car is the Ford Excursion. I'm generally anti SUV and will never ever get an SUV in my life, I'd even rather not own a car with rear doors. But it's so over the top that I just have to like it. The second one is the new Toyota Sequoia Capstone. For almost the same reasons, but adding to that the fact it's a powerful hybrid and that it's very technological and also luxurious like a Lexus making it incognito in the process. I like the Hummer EV too, but I don't know that it's actually "more efficient than any gas car." Just being electric doesn't mean a car is efficient, and I'd be willing to bet a truck that weighs 9,000 lbs and does 0-60 in 3 seconds is about the least efficient thing on the road.

Entertaining video, even if barely any of the vehicles really seem like true guilty pleasures

I love how Alanis' version of practical amounts to whether or not you can fit a dead body in it

Is Alanis hiding an Australian accent? Listen to how she says “that is so exciting” at 1:07…

I have an opinion, the 98’ rav4 2dr convertible, rarer and more reliable than a geo tracker. But also a 2dr convertible suv

@@mattmekhaeilUGH. Easy for you to say... 🙄 People have a right to not be happy AND voice their concerns with the way a channel they like is going.
@mattmekhaeil Жыл бұрын
@@nathanjoseph4284 it is easy for me to say and doug even said in video about future content and guests that he will keep doing them. If people don't like them just dont watch it simple. Someone commenting about they dont like it doesnt do justice 🤷♂️

LC500 is definitely NOT a guilty pleasure. It’s a straight up cool car.
