Bucks vs Nuggies would be the best matchup imo. Two completely opposite superstars from balkan origin battling it out in the biggest stage. Two very powerfull offenses, the giannis-dame pnr and jokic being jokic. Two small market teams that hadnt had a chip in over 40 years got one a year apart and now are striving for the second one. I really hope both bucks and nuggies stay healthy and manage to face off in the finals. If it comes down to it im calling bucks in 6 in OT by a dame dagger from three coming after a clutch defensive play by either giannis or crowder.

You forgot how Dame's last game-winner attempt got nullified by the guy you didn't mention here - Jamal Murray. The thing that is not adressed in the video is that Nuggets are just entering their prime! Imagine how good will Murray be this season, if he was that good previous year, comming from an injury. I think Murray and MPJ will improve. A lot. And Jokic is still 28. I see the same finals, Nuggets vs Bucks. But I can't predict the outcome

Tbh I can see the "NBA scriptwriters" make this a reality so they have a new storyline to offer until the Chet vs Victor will takeover.
@predragnikolic5807
@predragnikolic5807 7 ай бұрын
@@shamsielshahar120 Well, I'm concerned about Chet's and Victor's health... There is a high possibility for both of them to be injury prone. Same as Zion. I mean, only Yao Ming was a player that tall to have an All-Star career. Even Embiid always has struggles. And he is 29 already. I say already because if a pkayer has that much injuries by that age, you can't expect him to be a force of nature at 35... Same as AD. He is great... when he is playing. So, I don't see Chet as future face of the league. Luka, maybe...

hot take is the grizzlies are really overrated. we saw their flaws in the first round last year and i don’t think they addressed any of it. say what you want but it’s pretty hard to trust that everything off the court with the team is mature. moving tyus for smart just wasn’t enough and some people think it’s a downgrade

While you addressed it, I would group Lakers as fringe contenders (I don't mind them being the 3rd best team in the West). Vincent is a good pickup for them, but Wood and Reddish just got blown out in a preseason game. I don't trust them to do anything in the playoffs. Lakers even had issues playing Vanderbilt and D'Angelo in the postseason. In that sense, losing Schroeder (who did contribute in the playoffs) is going to be felt in the rotation. On the grand scale of things, they're slightly better now than where they were last playoffs. But for a team that Denver swept, "slightly better" doesn't make them serious contenders in my mind to make it out of the west, much less win the Finals.

Minor note - Grizzlies section, you say they faced the Lakers in the 2nd round. But they were upset by the lakers in 1st round (2nd v 7th seeds). And arguably a worse argument for them being playoff competitive (minor). For all the Lakers haters in the comments, y’all definitely not paying attention to Vegas odds 😶

Vegas odds mean literally nothing. Odds do not accurately predict the randomness of humanity. Most people expected GS to be a serious contender running it back with the same squad last year. Then, Draymond punched Jordan Poole so hard that he forgot how to be good at basketball (and it got leaked to the media, making it all worse).

The nuggets had one of the worst benches last year. Only team to retain their starting 5. Jamal and jokic on the court is virtually ungaurdable. CB was arguably as good as bruce brown last year with similar playstyles. He even carried game 4 against the heat. Julian strauther puts out more than jeff green did too, just maybe not defensively. Their bench is stronger this year and they have the best starters. Nuggets repeat this year
@LLawliet-tv9ig
@LLawliet-tv9ig 7 ай бұрын
Fact. People still be sleeping on the Nuggets. They think losing Brown and Green especially Brown means the whole team got worse. Last year, Nuggets bench was not good at all even with Bruce Brown in the lineup. Even though Brown is gone, I'm more confident in this year's bench than last year's bench because everyone knows their roles. Not to mention, now that Murray and MPJ are healthy, the bench can focus on being themselves and finding their identity. People will be surprised how good the young players are for the Nuggets and the impact they can make.

I would kick the Lakers off into "fringe" status. Father Time waits for no man. No player in NBA history LeBron's age has ever won Finals MVP. And as great as AD is, I just don't see him as the best player on a championship team. If anybody's going to defy all reasonable expectations for longevity and consistent production, is it LeBron James? Yes, sure. That's why they're still fringe contenders. But each year that passes it's going to be harder and harder for him to stay healthy and play at the level that can carry a team. Other than that, I think I pretty much agree with your picks here.

Yeah but casuals think he’s on the Kawhi injury prone level
@Ddvgh1
@Ddvgh1 7 ай бұрын
His point was more about the way he gets injured, which has been very different to guys like Kawhi. Kawhi sits like half his games with soreness and knee trouble, Davis has played virtually all his games until a complete fluke injury happens. For example you cited 2022 where he played 40 games, ignoring the fact that the reason for that was an MCL sprain where a guy tumbled down into his knee, and an ankle sprain where he landed on Gobert’s foot and his ankle essentially touched the floor. Those injuries would keep literally anyone out as much as Davis and could happen to anyone as well.

Man, no love for Sacramento. I know that didn't make any big moves but just them being together an entire year under Mike Brown's system should make them better. These guys took a huge step last year taking the reigning Champs to 7 games! Mavs and Griz are a dumpster fire waiting to be lit. Do you think Kyrie and Luke are going to work let alone them to show up the whole season? Griz are missing their best player for a big chunk of the season (and Steven Adams). lol, you probably thinks team defense is played with a Rudy Gobert camping in the lane. Nuggets isn't great on defense individually either, but when everyone is on the same page its 10x better than having a bum that tries to block everything. Why'd you think we didn't get McGee? Besides, we resigned Draymond, added a 6'10 Saric, signed Usman Garuba and got GP2 back.

lol. If defense is an issue. The Suns or Denver didn't fix their defensive issues either. The Warriors weren't a bad defensive team last year. They were ranked 4th defensively at home, while 28th on the road. That disparity indicates it didn't have to do with lacked talent or personnel for them to play good defense. Last year their defensive woes were in their high turnover rate, particularly on the road, giving opponents easy transition baskets.

Telling me you didn't watch GSW without telling me you didn't watch GSW. In a vacuum, Poole is not better than CP3 in a vacuum and anyone will tell you that if you watched any GSW games last year. Poole was stressful to watch as while Curry puts others on ice skates, Poole somehow puts himself on ice skates and slips even when the closest person to him is 3 feet away. For every highlight reel of Poole, there are 2 to 3 lowlight reels. He was originally expected to lead the 2nd unit, but the 2nd unit was awful that despite the starting 5 being the best 5 man line up, the GSW was still the 6th seed. CP3 is already having great results with the 2nd unit and I'm super excited for the dubs this year.

The biggest obstacle I see for the Grizzlies this year is Morant's 25-game suspension. If it were longer, like 50+ games, I could see them having a very strong record going into the playoffs. This is a good take. Both the eye test and stats back it up: if Ja is constantly moving in and out of the rotation, it gives the team less time to adjust to his presence. Considering the Lakers, i dont think that AD and LeBron are able to produce on the same level as f.e. Dame and Giannis or Jokic and Murray. We havent seen them do that since 2020, LeBron took a step back (hes still amazing but hes obviously aging) and AD is consistently inconsistent. I dont see a world where the Lakers can compete with the Nuggets in the west if both teams are fully healthy, and I do not expect the Lakers to be healthy whatsoever.
@ckq
@ckq 7 ай бұрын
AD is by far the best defender in the world. The inconsistent narrative is unfair (unless you're talking about health). LeBron had a foot injury, he still looks top 10, no worse than he did his first year with LAL

The fact that you say you can't put the Mavericks on your list shows how inconfident and inaccurate your list is. Also for the Warriors, what does our roster doesn't look any different than our championship even means? Also, you just addressed the problem we had last year with trading away Poole. Kumbuckets is important, but don't underestimate the fact Wiggins will be back to All Star level instead of missing 1/3 of the games. GP2 is also back and the glove fits in the Warriors system as good as Shaun Livingston. Moody is a top level role player and hes only getting better. Adding Saric will be as good of a fit, just like Otto Porter Jr or Bjelica. And don't forget CP3 is still the most versatile point guard. The only reason you say Klay is getting old is because he got injured. KD is 35 and also had an achilles surgery, you don't see it affects his shot. Draymond is still one of the best defender that plays both perimeter and interior. You think Giannis game is now opened up, but you can say the same for Curry with CP3 running the point. Curry has never lost a playoffs series in 6 games or less, saying we're not a true contender is kinda disrespectful because our problem last year was Klay and Poole jacking up contested shots, we fixed that now imho.
