Well after yesterdays frustration with the dealership service advisor over at AutoNation Ford of Tustin refusing to do anything about my misaligned trunk issue. I decided to take matters into my own hands in terms of finding a solution to my messed up trunk. Well guess what I found that they LIED and the trunk is easily adjustable using a single bolt found on each side of the trunk that can raise or lower it for any 2015-2019 Mustang. I will be looking for a new dealership as I can not stand the way they have dealt with the issues I have had.

Raul Gutierrez that is why you do you research that includes A:the appropriate price for the vehicle B:near buy mechanic shops that are good and reliable so you can get your car inspected C:check reviews on dealerships (including how many stars they have and if they have more bad reviews on it don’t go their) D:negotiate price according to your research on the appropriate price for the vehicle E:If they aren’t understanding of a faulty vehicle walk away without putting your signature on it F:talk to someone on the phone before you get there and when you get to the dealership don’t tell them that you talked to someone G: check all angles of the car to see if it is aesthetically pleasing to your liking This is not in chronological order

Ive had exact opposite experience. Don Hinds by me has always been place I went to for parts, but when I was rear ended they took care of me with OEM parts. Eventhough my car was 17 years old, they still put oem parts on it. Because of so, I have recommended them to family to buy 3 cars from them. Also take my car there for any service that I dont want to do to my 14 GT. Not all dealerships are scum.

I find that happens often. Sales Dept does great but Service is garbage. I traded in a 2015 Scat Challenger for a 2016 Scat Charger. I bought 275 Perelli tires, same as Hellcat, from this dealership for the challenger. When I traded for Charger I asked them to transfer CAI and tires. The service manager said, they won’t fit. I told her they would as they are practically the same car and those same tires come on SRT. She said, “no they are too tall. See, 275!” I told her that is the width of the tire not the height. She said she has been the service manager for 25 years and knows what she is talking about. I argued with her as I paid for those tires from them. After all said and done she refused to put them on for me. I called and got a hold of someone else later and they apologized. Since they sold my old car already they had to put brand new ones on. I just wanted my tires put on. I didn’t ask for new ones but because she had no clue what she was doing it cost the dealer more money.

Hey Rush, sorry about your experience with the service advisor. It's been my experience that service advisor don't know everything about every car that their manufacture produces. Next time you have a question like that, I would take to the Service Technician. The one's who deal with the vehicles hands on have more experience than those who just check in and check out the cars. Also don't forget to tough up the scratch so it doesn't rust.

Hi Rush Shift, Let me offer some gentle advice: 1. Dealerships and /or Car Salesmen give "$50 to $100 per car" referral bonuses, which you should be getting. 2. You should introduce yourself to the General Manager at the Dealership to make him aware that you are a Mustang Vlogger with 221,000 Subscribers that has successfully recommended his dealership for business, which, of course, is advantageous to him. Tell him: Your subscribers have bought ___ cars from his dealership. Ask him about future referral bonuses .........and also talk to him about how you get special treatment when you bring your car in for service. They should be bending over backwards to keep you happy. Perhaps the reason that you are not being treated "special" (and you DO deserve this), is that the Service Managers and Advisors have not been notified how important you are to the dealership. Your demonstrated ability to bring sales to the dealership , and possibly also to their Service and Parts Departments, is hugely beneficial to them all. There has probably been a breakdown in (or lack of) communication. Ideally, once you communicate your importance to the General Manager, he will be aware and can communicate to his Managers and to your Advisor that you are due special treatment. I hope this helps.

I doubt they LIED I'm pretty sure no one fucken knew about the trunk adjustment. Uneducated about the cars they sell it happens. It's a job to them they do it everyday very few of them take it as a passion or career and the same time the dealership should have classes to educate their employees on new features n how to be informed of those kinda things. So it's not their fault but I do understand your frustration and I like the fact that u researched and found how to fix it, that was incredible man. Keep being u doing u, n not excepting bullshit as an answer great job man, very honorable glad your solution was found and was as simple as adjusters great job man love u, peace n god be with u

I currently have a 2000 Mustang and in the process of getting a 2020. But, when I got my 2000 back then, both doors were not aligned evenly...they were cattywampus between front and back fender. The dealer had me take it to a body shop where they fixed the alignment for free. As much as dealers are untrustworthy, still most would do something like this free for a new car you bought from them.

I wouldn't blame the service advisors, I'd blame the mechanic who told him that. Service advisors always go to the mechanics if they don't know an answer to a question which is what he did, But the other problem whenever you want to do something he has to talk up to higher management. But at the end of the day the service advisor's just a middle man. That dealership just has poor management.

When a dealership does this, you need to call corporate, they do not like dealers who do this and they DO come down on them. Chevy dealer tried this mess here by refusing to service our car because it was not bought there, Corporate actually told them they would revoke the contract and take all the cars off the lot. if they had any more complaints, we were not the only ones being treated like this.

When he told you about the borescope procedure being too labor intensive he said that is what his technician told him. He should know better but the technician was feeding him a bag of bullshit. I am sure there are good techs there and good advisors also. I worked as a Ford master tech in Florida for 12 years and know this first hand. I would recommend you ask for another advisor and don't let the technician that worked on the engine touch your vehicle. Great content keep up the good work!

I have not had good experiences with service departments. One example, I bought a used 2009 Ford F-250, it had the factory sync and 6 disc stereo system, the sync mode was not pairing with a phone, I showed it to the service manager, he told me the system wasn’t factory, and that’s the reason it wouldn’t work. I knew better, so I got online, learned that the system needed a reboot occasionally, just like a home pc. So I unhooked the battery cable, let it set for a few seconds and reconnected. The sync system worked fine. I went back to see the manager, he was pissed off at me wouldn’t acknowledge anything I had to say. There are many more stories like this I could share. If you are fortunate enough to find a good reputable service department please let others know, because they are very rare these days.

@Rush Shift I don't want you to think everyone at the Ford dealership is not willing to help. Whomever that individual was did not have your best interest in mind. He was right about the process, taking pictures and submitting a claim to be denied or approved by Ford but in order to keep your business and people you send their way it will be dealt with by someone. If that person isn't aware, next step is salesman, if salesman doesn't work you go to your service manager. And by golly if that doesn't work hit up the GM. Most folks never make it past the salesman at my Ford dealer I work at because they get taken care of at that level. Good luck man. Keep at them, they will break.

Not sure why people have a misconception that service advisers are the same things as technicians. Service advisers aren't required to know cars, and typically their knowledge of vehicles just comes with experience over time dealing with customers and technicians on certain issues. Not to defend this adviser, because his entire job is to write down what you say on a repair order and send it back. And yes, all warranty requests are submitted to the manufacturer, but that's on you for not letting them write up a repair order for it then and there. Though the service adviser having to take pictures and wait for approval seems like BS and laziness. The dealership I work at, for example, has a very, very strict rule that advisers are not allowed to attempt to "diagnose" or give information like this on the service drive unless they call a tech to come up and give an opinion for this exact reason. If he did actually have a technician look at the car, that's not the adviser's fault if the tech gave him bad information to relay to you. Speak to the service manager about that.

There’s always a way to adjust, but all dealerships need to be able to pay their techs to work on your cars and if you don’t want to pay then you’d have to wait till warranty approves to pay for it if you didn’t want to wait or pursue it further then you can’t blame the dealer for that

You are a very well spoken young man. Go and have a sit down with the GM he should know that his employees are not doing their jobs. Explain to him how your KZbin channel has fenneled sales to his dealership and now you are uncomfortable with that. I am sure you will get a lot of lip service from him but he still needs to know that cars bought from his dealership are not being repaired under warranty. It's not like it is coming out if his pocket. Ford pays for the warranty repairs not the dealer. They will sell you a jar of touch up paint!!!!!! Bend the hinge!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY!!!!!!!!!!! Stand up and be heard my friend. Don't worry about burning your bridges there as your car is warranted by Ford and not the dealer. It sound like you have a crappy service department anyways.

All the service advisor had to do was to say He wasn’t sure about the adjustment on the boot and seek advice from someone who did know for example the body shop manager easy . Poor training by the dealership bring it to there attention then they can address it .

With very little time and research you can find out who the regional service manager is in your area, get a contact number for that person and speak to him/her about your service advisor experience. You will be surprised how his attitude may change the next time your there. You are absolutely correct he was just lazy, when he said he would have to take pictures and submit it you should have told him to start the process then. I bet when he thought he was going to have to do all that work he would have remembered that adjustment in the trunk.

Go to the bait-and-switch dealer you went to the first time they probably have an awesome service area either way your car is under warranty you can take it to any Ford dealer to get it worked on

Sucks about the terrible service. Loving that exhaust tho, i put a Corsa Extreme catback on my 18 Daytona 392 Charger and i gotta tell ya it sounds a lot louder on the Mustangs, maybe its just me but idk lol

I used to work at San Tan Ford in AZ, so I’m very familiar with the attitude of service advisors. If I were you I’d file a complaint with the service advisor manager. Very easy to access person that is always on shift Monday through Friday at any Ford

The guy he talked to is right though. You have to get the service advisor to make a workorder and go through all the steps. If there is a tsb you can present them that will help but it is a process just like going to the dmv LOL If the perform unauthorized work Ford will stiff them in a heartbeat. Ford does or any other manufacturer does not like paying out for warranty. The dealership is privately owned and they must work within the manufacturers guide lines. I am not defending them but i know the process and is why i prefer not to work at a stealership damn did i just say that . :)

Maybe they just actually dont know how to adjust that. Should probably at least let them know so they can fix it for other people.

Not tryna be that guy but that shit would NEVER happen at a Chevy dealership, I’ve had similar issue with 2018 SS Camaro and they IMMEDIATELY apologized and fixed everything for free and a free oil change/service. Idk if it’s just ur dealer but that’s crazyyyy, you payed a lot of money for that man

Audience, $20 bottle of paint. My mercedes touch up paint was $30 in 2008. Wow it's crazy how stealerships rip people off everyday with BS too...

The service advisor’s job is to advise the customer how they can pay the stealership more for unnecessary or inflated charges.

i actually have the same problem with my trunk. i had never noticed until you brought yours up so i think i’ll just do it myself but that is crazy how they wouldn’t do it themselves since it’s under warranty. i think that probable might be with the new GTs but idk

My 19 GT had a paint issue in the trunk as well, idk if it’s the same thing but in the trunk jam in the corner by the hydraulic, there was paint literally missing. My Ford Dealer tried the same shit so I went to the GM of the dealership directly to get it done.

Auto Nation dealerships are the worst. They treat their employees bad, and customers worse. When I was a trainer for GM, I would see all these issues. The managers spend all their time running reports for corporate. Best to take to another Ford dealership.

If you want more customers referred n want to keep Rush’s business you certainly can give it to him for free n also fix the trunk issue. Hate dealerships after the purchase!! They always have every excuse available to avoid fixing the issue that they are responsible for!

Just a bit of constructive criticism, you should shorten your intro some imo. Don’t get me wrong though. I love burnouts and bald eagles 🦅 Working at a dealership, that would be completely unacceptable where I work. We’d have a touch up guy on that ASAP. I would’ve asked to speak with the service manager or the GM. The service writer doesn’t have any authority.
