Josh as a fellow veteran, fellow nurse, and fellow (new) KZbinr - I’ve learned a lot watching your channel and the contact that you provide. Josh, I’m also a fellow veteran and I was a EMT with fire department for 20 years, I too bought a farm after I retired from the fire department here in eastern Oklahoma. I did take your advice and bought a T754 TYM. But my TYM would not stay cool in the cab so I had to get rid of it and I bought me a John Deere.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer Жыл бұрын
Hmm.....the 754 has just about the same size cab as my 574 I think....you couldn't just have the AC system warrantied v/s buying a deere? Hate that for ya, but seems that would be a warranty issue that could be taken care of for much cheaper than a new deere my brother....my AC blows so cold...it will run you out of the tractor lol
@timpotter8715
@timpotter8715 Жыл бұрын
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I agree but after taking it back to the dealer they told me it was working fine, lol, they also said that TYM would not warranty, because I probably over heated it, but I didn’t. It may just be my dealership, but the Jd freezes me out so I’m good. Lol, mine was the 574, must off been dyslexic when I typed that.

The neighbor tree situation. I'd talk to the guys who actually did the harm. If they failed to fix it. I'd then ask the neighbor to lean on them. If that failed, I'd take care of the situation myself (move the offending material back over on the neighbor). The problem was not the neighbor's fault. Who knows, he might even help. Then, I would do a full court press and I would let everyone I know what the timber people did. I would make it my case in life to make sure they did no more work in or near your area. They are not good business people or good stewards of the land. They need to be held accountable. I would also keep track of the time and material I spent fixing their problem and I'd invoice them for it. Great video Josh! Lee

If the neighbor gets mad because you're holding the tree company accountable for their actions, then your neighbor needs to rethink their morals. Nothing wrong with getting them to fix their mess, and it might gelp them weed out a weak link in their crew too.

First, I don't understand why loggers were on your land(you didn't say) 2nd, talk to neighbor and ask them to contact the logging Co. and have them come out and fix their mess. Contact your neighbor and ask him to have the timber crew to come back and clear the debris from the trees they felled. The neighbor is likely unaware. The timber crew will likely try and get away with what they can. Clean up in the heat is hard work, and I'm sure they were feeling it all the way around. Communication is key. If you get attitude and push back after nicely informing them of your issues, I'd then try a different approach.

Build your soil up in that bottom land and it will be less wet, able to absorb and hold more water. Looks like a forestry mulcher would be a good rental to cut back the brush tighter to the fence rows. Are you going to seed the fields for better grazing? josh, you might want to look into planting 1 tree of a different species ( other than pine), cos a lot of pine tree hedges are dieing in australia from a pine tree disease, and a 6 month drought , then a rainy summer really killed a lot. maybe plant oaks or wallnut or pecan or even eucalyptus ( but they are a weed in california. )

cows are fascinating animals and they each have their own personality! As I'm sure you know every heard has a hierarchy with the dominant cow, usually an old matriarch as the boss cow who all the others will follow. Can you find something to pick it up with(grabber bucket or claw)and add it to your windrow to decompose and push in your low spots later? That would be my suggestion. Sometimes it's just easier to remove it yourself then upset a neighbor. Maybe show them what the company they contracted did. NO MORE TILL!!!!! Tillage opens the land up to more weeds.....we'll get the soil right, use the litter that's been mowed down on the field for the last few years as bedding and no till drill....or overseed and bring the cattle in to mash the seed into the ground. Ya need to watch a few of my winter vids to understand. We don't seed much anymore, we roll out hay and hay is full of grass seed. Tillage destroys soil structure and is not the way to establish a pasture unless you want weeds...no till drilling or broadcast overseeding and allowing the cattle to trample the seed into the soil is best practice

LOL! I'm set up for microgreens- but how do you eat them? Just plain, by the handful? 🤔 Mow, mow, mow, the land- turn it into buffet! 🐃🥗🥩

More on this in a future vid for sure....however, I just make a salad...I have 2-4 different types of microgreens growing on a small scale....and I make 2 salads a day...I grow them in jars on the kitchen counter...and it's awesome!

I grew some mung bean sprouts (that way) to test, and gave them to the chickens- they weren't interested! LOL! I have some broccoli to try next- I'll taste them, this time.. 🤭😋

Dang josh. Sorry to hear about your significant other loss. I did see that stargazer cast iron on the stove. Im a stargazer owner as well. Sounds like you need some night vision and a good smoke pole to take care of them fox.
