Mate, I work in a Mitsubishi dealer in AUS. When you torque anything that’s Mitsubishi, there’s a formula you need to do if / when you torque anything down when you are using an extension on a torque wrench. I don’t know the formula on the top of my head but a quick google should give you the spec.

With that Kiggly trigger, dont forget to re-find your trigger offset angle. it will most likely be quite a bit different than factory offset too. Just did this with my 1g.

Regarding the rattle , Maybe throw the car on Bader dyno and listen for it then , if you don't figure it out before dyno day......I would check the block and head with a straight edge , maybe the machince shop screwed up ? Good luck man , my favorite build on utube!

The two far studs on each side of the exhaust manifold, biggest ones I believe, have oil passing through them. If you didn't put any type of thread sealant they will tend to leak like that.

It might be a blow by issue. I had this happen on a poorly designed wiseco piston for a duratec engine. The side skirts were too short and the piston slap smoothed out the cylinders very quickly. Or maybe in your case just a ring issue. However I had same thing going on. Wet pistons and oil seeping between block/head.

Devin. I have the ACT mod twin disk on my built FA20dit and it makes the same exact rattle as your evo while not on throttle but in gear (also seems to be only over 2k rpm). And no rattle out of gear. I’m leaning to an ACT issue common to their design

Thats why i never use arp lube under the washers,this causing the washers to spin while torquing which results to wrong torque values Sand down the side of the washer which sits on the head with a 60 grit and dont use arp lube on that side Also wait between torque stages,you need to let the studs cool down for each torque step

Did you have the machine shop step deck the block at all?? With it leaking 360° around the gasket makes me think maybe the bores are sitting up proud compared to the rest of the block casting etc

the quality of sce cutring which is the same as the Athena is bad, wrong ring size don't let the gasket sealing properly ,,we have 14 different engines with the same issue ,coolant and oil leaking externally

Your torque wrench must be off it gives you " clicks " wayyyy too easy for the ft pounds that you torqued. I wanted to comment about it but i thought it was in my head.

He's just ripped like that. The real issue is checking torque on a tightened fastener doesn't mean much because you will get a false click if you have zero rotation. Only real way to check torque is by backing them off and doing it again properly by applying consistent pressure without stopping until it clicks.
