I remember the Acura Legend. Those cars were so solid and bullet proof the Acura Service Centers at their dealerships complained about not having any business for the first few years. Yeah Acura was hitting it out of the park with the NSX, the Integra, and the Type R. Then they lost their appeal. The MDX is their biggest seller now.

This was a very professional video. I agree with the owner completely. I think the first generation Acura Legend coupes, especially an LS model with a 5 speed manual, is one of the best looking and most durable Japanese car. Even the Japanese don't build them like that anymore. Those coupes are getting harder and harder to find. Nice to see the owner loves it stock and is working hard to hunt down all the necessary parts to keep it original!

Thanks Alex for that great presentation on your classic ACURA Legend coupe. As an owner of a 1994 GS Legend for the past 16 years I have a healthy respect for the ACURA brand. I bought it with 95,000 miles on it, in 2002 and it hit 257,000 the other day! I have to admit it's not in the great condition yours is in but the champagne body color still turns heads. Take care.

Good vid, these cars were sweet back in the day, everything still works 28 years later. I'm not sure how many parts may or may not have been replaced, but that's impressive. Regarding the airbag and horn buttons that was pre-floating horn button over the airbag. Most cars only had 2 buttons that you had to hunt for if trying to beep the horn, it was especially a pain when trying to beep while turning. This car was ahead of its time with 4 horn buttons. Best of luck with her!

My first car purchase was a 91 Acura Legend back in 05. I LOVED that car. The combination of what seemed like lower gearing and a 200hp v6, that car seemed to just fly. Acceleration was awesome and I had the speedometer reading 130+ one time with the engine willing to give more...that was with 200,000+ miles on it. I'd love to by the last model year ('95 I believe) when they had 230hp. Just a fantastic car

Founder Soichiro Honda did not design/build engines and cars for money, that was his passion, that's why honda cars are always better. That was a great video. Seems like the guy had done that before, and, he sounds slightly like a young Alan Alda. Those 80's and early 90's Japanese cars seem to have build quality and features that show a genuine concern for what the customer was going to think. The details are fantastic.

Thanks Scotty for these new segments to see all the awesome blasts from the past. These first generation Legends are awesome cars, and to this day, not a week goes by without someone pointing and shouting out, "love that Legend", or an enthusiastic "thumbs up", as I drive by. Only differences I noticed between your 90, and my 87' (introduction year of the coupe) is that my L model only has the bump forward seat belt on the drivers side., and no integrated bad ass spoiler. However, my 87" does have the optional integrated graphic equalizer instead of the cassette storage compartment under the stereo's head unit. Probably an upgrade option, at the time. Rock on Legend, and I hope one day you come back, bigger better, and even more bad ass than ever!

Great video and great pick Scotty. I remember in 1999 my roommate graduated and got a 1990 Legend black on black and that car turned head, it had manual transmission shifted like a dream very smooth without jerking, my 2005 TL 6 speed is clunky compared to this car. I wanted to own legend but didn't had money at that time and after i graduated i never found one in clean condition. Finally, years later i managed to get myself 2002 RL, which is legend but on steroids. Thanks!

I worked as a service adviser at a Acura dealer from 1987 -1995 when Acura bought back some franchises due to lack of sales. Acura eliminated the Integra and in 91 came out with a new version of the Legend which was very poor. Sales fell off immediately and never recovered. They also came out with the Vigor (it was later changed to the TL) which had an inline 5 cylinder engine. POS . I agree the 90 model LS was the best Legend ever made.. BTW great video. Beautiful produced video for a an all-time great! The Legend Coupe always reminded me of the BMW 3.0CSi...not bad company! In 1991 I wanted the Legend, but the price was out of my wheelhouse at the time. I ended up going with the 1991 Toyota Cressida, Super White with Dove Gray leather interior. Proved to be an incredible car...RWD, 185 hp. Owned it for 22 years. The Legend Coupe has a supreme interior. Those seats are sumptuous! If I didn't need four doors, I'd be on the lookout for a Legend Coupe.

Wow! professionally done video, resolution ! beautiful. Little to fast for my taste. Forgot to tell everyone that the reason for the wipers lifting feature is that it prevented freezing solid to the windshield. Amazing technologies for the 1990 car. I have a beautiful restored gold 1990 Honda Accord ( looks amazingly similar to his Accuras), love it to pieces, no rust ( California ) 280 000 miles, works like charm. Thanks Scotty, thanks Alex.

I had a 5 speed '87 Legend sedan I bought in '88....So wish I could find another..Loved every moment I that I owned it...That motor ran like a Swiss watch...I felt that I had finally arrived when I took ownership of it...

Alex, great sense of humor, nice history lesson and thoroughly informative & professionally done video. P.S. Perhaps someone will donate whoever wrote that note, putting them out of THEIR misery. Love the cars, they're keepers!

The instant fuel economy and electronic service interval is a very nice feature to find in a pre-2000's car. My '87 Ford had a full digital dashboard with that same functionality built in. Early-to-mid 80's Fords came with a Tripminder computer that showed this information as well.
