I’m 51 and have back problems. I have played Cobra One Length hybrids and irons for the past two years- first I bought the F7’s with graphite shafts and then bought F8’s with steel shafts. I am playing the best golf of my life. My handicap went from a 25 to a 10. The one length concept with a single swing plane is brilliant. I have three swings- driver, 3 wood and then all my hybrids and irons. 3 swings, that’s it. Total consistency. Congrats, Bryson! US Open champ! Now go win Augusta! @@SuperKelbe I have Lamkin midsized grips. Since my initial post I moved from the F8 OL irons and hybrids to the Forged Tec OL irons with graphite shafts (3-PW) and I’m now an 8 handicap. I also changed to the Mizuno M Craft Type 6 putter and just added the Cobra Snakebite OL 56 degree wedge.

I started playing One Length Pinhawk irons over a year ago. Awesome consistency. The lesser known brand was significantly less expensive, so, the risk of trying single length was less. I hope more companies come up with more choices and the OL market will grow. (Mizuno forged anyone?)

My one-length forged tec irons arrived today and i managed to give them a blast at the range. 5 iron, 6 iron i felt i could control the trajectory very well. 7 and 8 iron felt normal. 9 iron to Gap wedge felt weird, but its what i prepared for. Didn't feel i had the trajectory control i wanted (coming out very high). Then again it was my 1st outing with them and i'm convinced this is the way to play, for me personally.

I have been using Single Length Clubs ( 3i thru Wedges ) produce by 1iron golf For more than 8 years. Easy to swing .... Same length from 3i thru wedges. Same club weight Same lie angle Same MOI Same stance ( all centre ) Only loft angle differ ...... Length of club depends on your WTF ( wrist to floor ) measurement.

I just received my 1 Iron Pro set and played 3 games with them. I find my distance is 10 yards shorter, and have more problem with the 6 and 5 irons, exactly what GolfMagic has found. Maybe I need more time to adjust to them. I'm a 11 handicapper.

I've played one length irons for 3 seasons now, and I found basically the same thing. I love the irons from 6 down to lob wedge, but the 5 and 4 have always been hit or miss. I'm thinking that having OL from LW to 6i, and then going to a standard 5 and 4 might be the ideal set for me. I've always been kind of a backwards golfer anyway because I hit long irons better than wedges.

Definitely want to fatten the grips like he does.

On the long irons did you keep the ball position the same as your traditional 7 iron? Could have been the issue if not.

Yes mate I kept the set-up the same, just think it was more a mental struggle than anything! I think if I continued using them it wouldn't take long to overcome...

Hi there! I am looking into these as well, but they currently only have the muscle backs. Is that a real problem for me when I am a 25 HCP at the moment? I am dropping my HCP by 8 every 3 weeks now still because I am a high handicapper now, so progress is fairly fast still. Should I give muscle backs a go or should I wait for them until they have new cavity backs? Thanks in advance!
@GolfmagicPlus4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert. Great to see how quickly your handicap is dropping, well done! Although your mistaken in thinking that you can only get muscle back ONE Length irons! Check out the SPEEDZONE irons from Cobra, it's their latest 'game improvement' irons which would be much better for your handicap as they provide loads of forgiveness and you can get these in ONE Length! Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

@@GolfmagicPlus Thanks for taking to time to respond, appreciate it! I forgot to mention that I meant the forged ones instead of the speedback, but I'll be sure to check them :) Thanks for your advice!

Great video dude, loads of info. I invested in a set of f9 irons a while back & although I really want to love them, the longer iron yardages just seem to bunch together too much for my liking. 😐

I had the same experience with the F9 SL. The 5,6, &7 were too close, so I now use SL Cobra hybrids 19, 22, 25 degrees. Better!

Same here; looks like a high swing speed is needed for the longer irons - see Alex Etches" review (hits them like a train); oddly, I just can't get the hybrids airborne, but no problem with the irons.
@Grunt21Tennessee4 жыл бұрын
The 4 and 5 iron, maybe even the 6 iron creates the most problems with what seems to be all players that try the one-length irons. They will come out lower in trajectory and lesser distance. 8 out of 10 people will see this. I wanted to like the one-length irons, but they didn't work for me.
@GolfmagicPlus4 жыл бұрын
Interesting isn't it. The idea of a shorter 4 and 5 iron, in theory is more attractive to use, but like you said they just came out a little low!

I recently bought these clubs and you're right about the lower trajectory and distance when comparing a flush shot with my old variable-length 4 iron vs. a flush shot with the one-length. But I am hitting the one-length 4 iron way better and more consistently so in practice and on the course I am still way ahead. That's just me though because I was never comfortable hitting a long 4 iron.

I have played every model of the one length clubs starting with F7, F8, F9 and Forged Tec (have two sets of these). I had to experiment and tweak the top end a little. 1. Most recent config: modus 120 Xs: clubs 5-LW, no problem. Add 4i one degree stronger than standard. One length 3h to finish. 2. 4-LW kbs 130 Xs, 3utility iron kbs stiff. The softer 3 utility shaft allows for extra speed without extra effort. Hybrid and 3utility are within 5 yards distance roughly. The course conditions and wind determine what goes in bag. I prefer 3iron, but if there’s thick rough, stay with hybrid. 10 yard gaps between clubs from top to bottom. Versatility of one length, I can hit Half swing shot similar to Hitting a wedge into green from top to bottom...or full swing. Just depends on height and trajectory desired. Best move I ever made. Love when the guys I am playing against have traditional Clubs. I will take any advantage I can get. :)
@NonnyStrikes3 жыл бұрын
Get single length. That's all there is to it. Stephen Hollbrook above is prime example. 25 to 10 handicap... it is all the proof you need. I started choking down on my original clubs just because I was tired of changing my plane. Then I switched and the rest is history. I went from a 11 to 2 handicap. Believe it or not, up to you. But I would highly suggest the single length. Give them a year worth and I know you won't regret it!
