Not even saddest. On Maledives I had many argues with parents whose kids were collecting hermits in buckets, then forgot them while having dinner and in the next morning there were 30, sometimes up to 60 dead hermits. Per bucket!!! I love children but I don't love parents who go with them in holidays to places like this and Let them destroy and kill nature just for having fun and don't teach them to protect and maybe observe nature just because of their own laziness and ignorance.

After they use litter as a shell their normally curled abdomen gradually changes shape to fit the new home meaning its difficult to go back to shells after so they keep using litter once they start.

This episode took a shot in Thailand. National park staff always contribute abandoned shell to beach forest vicinity until the night the land hermit crabs leave their shelters to feed and seek new mobilized home. In the past this hermir crabs are commonly found many parts of island in the southern Thailand. At the present their population plummet because they lost of habitat from hotel or resorts rennovation, trapping to be pet and their favourite shells disappear.
