I recommend using Gordon's reloading tool, that will help you estimate the FPS difference between different ambient temperatures, going from freezing to 85° outside can easily net you that 100fps you saw

It's a app you download to your computer. May want to consider having warm weather loads and loads for lower temperatures, or find a less temperature sensitive powder.

They don’t offer much discussion. I was 100fps + over spec and they don’t build that much safety into their plates.

I'd love to see a proper real-life setup with these plates in a Strandhogg carrier. Soft armor behind the plates + trauma pads all inside the carrier would make a massive difference to back face deformation.
@BuffRANGE3 ай бұрын
@@spdcrzy that seems a bit excessive for soft armor and trauma pads
@spdcrzy3 ай бұрын
@@BuffRANGE Considering that these plates + soft armor + trauma pads in a carrier would still weigh less than a steel plate, I wouldn't call it excessive. I'd call it worst-case thinking.

Been running Hesco for years but the Adept Colossus has me intrigued. In your opinion, between the colossus and the 4601, which performed better after the drop test?
@BuffRANGEАй бұрын
I mean there's no denying that the Colossus has the highest threat rating of commercial plates. However there's still assurance they could do by having these CPL listed. If you don't need that kind of AP threat protection, there's nothing wrong with the 4601..
@padericktheirishman8613Ай бұрын
Thank you for your quick response. I wish they would submit the colossus for CPL listing. Cost would go up but it would be worth it from my perspective for reassurance provided by the third party on-going verification.

@@TheJoeml85I have a pair of those(don’t think it’s made in the USA). It’s ok. Not bad of a price tag. I also like RMA(made in The USA.) but a bit heavy. If you looking for cheap but worth the price I would say battle steel. But knock on them it’s made in China.

What's goin on?
@BuffRANGE Жыл бұрын
FIT OF 1155 from RMA failed back in March with a magic bullet that penetrated a plate without leaving a clear penetration hole. Lots of follow up and investigation resulted in NIJ pulling the 1155 (only the 1155) cert. It is no longer an NIJ Certified plate.
