As far as I'm concerned. Eli is the best SX guy in the world no one even close, not webb not ROCZEN, nobody. However, tomac hasn't beat a healthy herlings gajser or ferrandis, for a title. And until he does that, he can't be the best outdoors as well. Because other than sexton and ferrandis he hasn't beat anyone outdoors who is actually world class outdoors.

@TankEater Negative. If he would have won 6-8 his first Kawi year (2016), that would have put him 55-57 currently. If he wins another 2-3 this year (which is likely), he would have been at 57-59 to end this year. He would have needed roughly 13-14 wins next year. HIGHLY unlikely, which is why I said "an outside shot". The fact he could have even been a seasons worth of wins away from that record is crazy to think. Again though, this is all a "what could have been" scenario.

Sexton will probably never win a 450 Supercross championship. Never seen such an inconsistent rider.. The dude is blazing fast, though. He is probably faster then Eli on most days.. but he can't keep it on 2 wheels for 20+ min. Cooper Webb may not even be in the top 3 when it comes to the fastest in the 450.. but he's by far the most consistent rider IMO. Dude rarely crashes, he puts in the same lap times for 20+, gets better as the tracks break down. But Eli? Good lord.. I truly believe he's the best rider on this planet right now. Never seen such a mad man on a bike... but you're right. He beats himself, he has that one or two crashes a year that results in a horrible finish. If he had Coopers consistenty he would already be a 3X+ or 4X champion in the 450 class.

@@tankeater Not necessarily mental- but just needing more experience with his limitations of dirt grip, tires, etc. Lots of mistakes from sliding out, throttle control, etc. That's not a sign of weak mentality, but just needing more experience and muscle memory knowing the limits of the bike, conditions, his ability, etc.

@Aveeeeeee he can outdoors, and he's not an outdoor specialist, never has been. That bike doesn't gel well for him in supercross, it didn't for Kenny either...and the fact he's always standing everywhere it's no wonder he keeps losing the front... but the bike works well for him outdoors. I think a different bike will help indoors, a chromoly steel frame with more flex may be what he needs.. also have the benefit of 52mm forks. Most guys don't need them, but with his speed I think he'd gel with 52mm cone valves. I bought some A-kit 49mm 'blackjack' complete forks that are available with the Natty shock, I absolutely love them, but no way would I want them to be any bigger...but it does work wonders with the steel frame and chassis.
