My fiancé gave me a $30k engagement ring, proposed in a Italy. But I waited half a decade. Now that we finally moved in together, it feels so good having an actual commitment from his end. It brings me some sort of peace. I would’ve never moved in with him if we were only bf/gf..no way.
@SJ-tb2wq
@SJ-tb2wq 2 жыл бұрын
Kudos to whoever brainwashed people that an expensive engagement ring is necessary. Correction. That ANY ring is necessary. Rings are symbols of women's endless cares of what people think about them. If your ring is too small your man doesn't care for you. It's all clever marketing. Blessings to your union, truly. It's just interesting the fact that you HAD to put how much he paid for your ring.
@lusfit6903
@lusfit6903 2 жыл бұрын
@@SJ-tb2wq I only mentioned the price bc he went above and beyond of what I ever expected. He worked very hard and gave me the proposal he thought I deserved, and for that he deserves the recognition. I waited so long to get a commitment and I became somewhat desperate so I would’ve been just as happy had he proposed with a $100 ring. The day he proposed will forever be the most magical day of my life and yes I now happily show off my lovely long awaited engagement ring!
@lusfit6903
@lusfit6903 2 жыл бұрын
@Jay dilla i never mentioned the price of my ring to anyone except on this comment. So no I never “show off” by telling anyone how much my ring is. I “show off” that i am now finally ENGAGED. And even if people ask how much it is (some have), I haven’t and won’t be comfortable sharing that information bc there are people like you. People who are full of assumptions and negativity who can’t seem to be happy for others.

To each their own but it would behoove both parties in the relationship to move in together as too have an easy out if something goes wrong. Steve said to the women don't give away milk until he's bought the cow, I say to the guys don't buy the cow until you've tried the milk. A lot of people think that the man has to audition for the woman but in reality the woman is auditioning for the ring and men are not willing to give y'all a ring until we've seen that you are worth us giving a ring too.

So many couples get this wrong. Get to know each other, then get married , then you can move in together and have all the sex you want. The "world's way" is have sex and possible children out of wedlock while suffering various relationship fallouts, then move in with someone at a very low level of commitment and have repeated fallouts and breakups constantly making you move in or out and be unstable, then get married when you're old and plan on never having children because let's face it your life is all about you and you would never want to care for another human being. It's a shallow sad story and being told every day about millions of foolish Americans.

Reading these comments and reactions are fun lol it’s amazing how many perspectives are out in the world, I’m a 25 year old man raised by a single Aunt but grew up seeing relationships and marriages. It doesn’t matter if yall regular married (legality paperwork) or spiritually married (Gods paperwork) if yall move in together things will change, since that’s the only thing constant. Its all up to you if you will allow it to change in a way that adds to your life or take away. Nowadays too many revert and compare their decisions off of social media or just others peoples experiences, you gotta do what you feel at the moment and have grace that it’ll all work out if your real and true with yourself and partner. The most successful marriages aren’t the ones painted with a beautiful picture but the ones that are brutally honest, the value of relationships have been decreased considering the way life operates nowadays. Yes, back in the day it would be socially acceptable to move in after marriage or once a bond been built. But a beautiful woman told me recently, that she prefers it to be that way because it’s better to know what your dealing with before you know what your dealing with. Gods handbook for us all is all different, we gotta let life take its course sometimes. Love is love and hate is love that never been expressed or received properly. Its all resorts to healing Peace & Stillness 🤲🏾

Couples should not be moving into together unless they’re married or engaged with a date. And a man who wants to move in with his girlfriend is a hobosexual. I’m engaged with my own place, he has his own place and he’s getting our house next year before we get married. There’s a right and wrong way to do things. Ladies sometimes need to listen to their elders and avoid the pitfalls of disappointments with their advice.

There’s another side that no one cares to talk about. Guy marries her then they move in and now she changes up and becomes unpleasant, argumentative, lazy, she has past trauma...etc. No one ever speaks on the man’s side of why men don’t want to give a ring until they live with the woman first to make sure she is “wife material”.

it does matter. The world views is always contrary to Gods. he doesn't change. when we decide to do things Gods way , then that is what matters. becoming one with another in Gods eyes in front of witnesses. it doesn't have to a big fancy ceremony . its a covenant . most people deal with marriage as a personal union that's mostly about them. feelings matter more than commitment. so when the music stops or feelings, the marriage is over. bond and covenant with God has no value.

@@winniejohnson5559 But isn’t marriage a modern thing? Like wasn’t it one of those situations that were created for financial benefits and taxes? Marriage is not a modern thing, what may be modern is the current nature of wedding and how people enter into marriage but the institution of marriage is one that has been present since the very foundation of the world according to the bible. The right way is God's way and God's way is in His word.

Moving in with someone changes the entire dynamic of a relationship. I would listen to Steve and if you still feel the same way months later try it out with a best friend first so you can find out your ground rules and what you will and won't allow in your personal space... Then if he wants to move in (which he should show interest in) then you can break down ground rules that you both agree upon. I've had woman move in with me because I suggested it not because they wanted to. They saved money on rent and I was in a terrible situation :/

straight up, i dont get all these people saying "dont move in until youre married". Like what yall never had a room-mate before? You dont live with anyone unless youre married to them? You think its wise to make it harder to end the relationship before doing the thing most likely to make you want to end the relationship? Seems ridiculous to me

@@callanc3925 Yeah man I agree. I lived with an ex and did not know how messy she was until we lived together. I found myself doing more of the cleaning and 95% of the cooking lol. Funny thing is I also paid all of the household bills. Only thing she had to pay was her car payments and car insurance. She was just not the type to do all of these things. I was relieved that I didn't just marry her after years of dating. I stuck with this mindset even with my wife. We got a place together, I proposed 4 months later and we got married 4 months after that. We did all of this (including buying a house) before the lease was out. She was much cleaner, she was willing to cook and workable. When I realized we jelled I had no problem in marrying her because I knew she would be a good wife.

@@callanc3925 -Giving a man all the benefits of having a wife without actually becoming a wife is disrespectful to herself and any children they may have. I moved in with my husband before we were married, and I never realized how many things were ‘men’ things--leaving shoes all over the pace, leaving clothes on the bathroom floor, leave shaving cream on the sink, toothpaste lid off the toothpaste, leave the cabinets open, etc. I love my husband dearly BUT ……..WHEW!!! They are a lot of work.
