A video about the case of Taylor Swift re-recording her old stuff would be so interesting especialy cause I feel most of us still don't understand how she had ZERO rights to her music and if the laws regarding the ownership of music could be altered better for musicians (and of course your view about that whole situation)

re keeping plants alive. For our 4th anniversary, my wife gifted me a succulent in a dope ceramic pot. I've never had a green thumb, but I wasn't about to let this one get away from me. It was a symbol of our relationship! I bought a moisture sensor and soil thermometer. I gave it only reverse osmosis water. I made sure to tell our housesitter to keep an eye on it when we were traveling. A year later at our 5th anniversary dinner, I proudly pointed out how the succulent is thriving and growing. Before I could mention transplanting it to a larger pot, though, I was drowned out by her laughter. The succulent is artificial.

Great video, Eve. I imagine another big reason for these opportunistic cases is exposure. The whole "all publicity is good publicity" probably applies here, especially for those smaller artists who suddenly get an influx of streams from curious fans of the artist under fire.

I love the 4 chord song by axis of awesome, really demonstrates the similarities between popular songs. I worry about my music not being original too even though I'm so so small, realistically no one cares what I do right now, I'm like an ant lol but as Ed Sheeran said, there are 22 million songs uploaded to spotify in a year alone and coincidences are bound to happen so I'm just gunna try not to have such crazy high expectations for myself when 1. No one cares but me and 2. So many songs have the same four chords and I can still enjoy them all as individual songs

Did IP: Copyright last semester and I think it's really important to note that there should be a link between the original and copied work. So, if the artist who allegedly copied the work had not heard the original work before, the claim would fail. Hope that helps add a point!

I was very young when that song by Robin came out but I heard the song everywhere however I have never see the music video but if I had I think would have been slightly creeped out by it as well. Also suing someone for the vibe/groove of a song sounds like the biggest inside joke I have ever heard. Something I have been looking at alot in my work at the moment is how when you put something out especially on the internet it technically doesn't belong to you anymore. Even if you put it on a private account or something, someone can screenshot it and it can get out extremely easily. Plus people take images from everywhere tv shows, movies even ads change them in someway wether it be for a meme or for a business meeting and use them for themselves. Is that then consider copying or plagiarizing? We are in an age where everything is just so connected so there are bound to be so many similarities because there are so many of us! Love the video, very educational as always and found the clips of Mariah Carey very funny. 😅

Hi Eve, Thankyou for this very interesting video. Music has always been part of my life. Aswell as being involved in production and recording music some years ago now, as you so rightly point out the law regarding copyright of music can be somewhat opaque and there is seemingly a growing industry of people taking advantage of this.

A narrow, dimly lit alley; a woman stumbles, clutching her purse. Shadows shift, and from nowhere, a figure emerges. The artist known as Wanksy marks out another pothole with precision. The woman, shaken, never sees his face. She glances around, bewildered by her sudden rescue. The Rooftop Perched atop a high-rise, Wanksy surveys the cityscape. A plume of smoke rises in the distance. He slips into action, reminding everyone that the street needs to be repaired, crossing the rooftops with ease. Fire trucks arrive just in time, unaware of the man who in doing his best to repair the street, who now watches from the shadows, ensuring all is well before vanishing into the night. The Underground Deep within the city's underground, the man known as Wanksy navigates the labyrinthine tunnels. A group of homeless individuals huddles together, fearful of a recent string of injuries from walking down the road. Tonight, Wanksy stands guard, unseen. The threat comes, but Wanksy strikes swiftly, leaving another penis painting pointing out potholes. The homeless never know their guardian, only that safety has returned. By day, Wanksy is invisible, a face in the crowd in Manchester, England. By night, he is a silent sentinel, watching over a city that never knows his name. Each act of courage, each selfless deed, is done in secret. His identity remains a mystery, his life a series of hidden battles of penis paintings. Wanksy moves through the city's veins, a ghostly protector, his presence felt but never seen. In the quiet moments, when the city pauses to catch its breath, those he saves share whispered tales of an unseen hero only in their wildest dreams. And as dawn breaks, Wanksy returns to his ordinary life, ready to fade into anonymity until night falls again. "It's not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed. The artist known as Wanksy does penis paintings pointing out potholes."

Inward-facing investors seeking "Only two social media platforms, no cameras or someone taking pictures - how can it be outward-facing investors seeking?"- being alone in a group of so-called 1% - I know every single time when I was lied to - why would there be cameras there? - trouble always comes in threes - recession, pandemic, leaving EU.
