Shayla, I needed to hear this today. Thanks. I had my first baby during covid also and I think it is EXTRA hard to deal with stuff because of that. Extra worries, extra crazy. Your videos have gotten me through and I watched your travel stuff before as I am an adventurer. It took my husband and I 8 years to be able to get pregnant and our daughter is so wonderful, but days when I have had no sleep for over 72 hours and I am a walking zombie and my husband just doesn't understand why I snap at him or am short with him, I refer to one of your videos which he has watched with me so he understands more and can sympathize knowing that a lot of Moms feel and think the way I do. Many of your methods are how I chose to raise my daughter as well and I really appreciate your input on things. Thanks for doing these videos!

Such a good video! I'm very honest about motherhood too, I found my first soooo hard. I was like what have I done with my life!? Much preferred the toddler stage. I'm on baby number 2 now, who is 5 months and I loved having a baby so much more. I instantly bonded with him and I think because I had already been through the shock of a first, we were already looking after 1 person, it was a lot easier. I am still overwhelmed probably on a daily basis but move past the moment and carry on.

Heh, I feel ya - my hysterical cry yesterday was over burping, of all things. My 3 month old (bottle feeding formula) wouldn’t burp for an entire bottle and wailed at me instead. He wailed, I bawled, it felt like the end of the world for a miserable 30 minutes. But he spent the morning burping and farting all on his own and grinning at me on each one, and he did not explode. And another day went by 😂❤️ rinse, repeat, try to feel less like a crazy person.

Oooh man did I need this video. Mother to our 13 week old son, and I adore my son… but the infant stage is absolutely the closest I’ve felt in my life to genuinely going insane. His smiles and giggles and snuggles are almost the only things currently getting me through, cause otherwise… OOF. I need to work harder at finding my happy in-between of course - that’s on me, not on him. I am so friggin excited for us to head into toddlerhood someday (having seen a lot of it with my nieces and nephews). I’ll take the tantrums and other new challenges over the infant stage any time. Thanks Shayla, for this dollop of hope ❤️

I have a 10 month old girl and as I am writing this we have had a rough 24 hours with a mild fever and not sleeping well at all. We bed share and exclusively breastfeed and she wakes normally 4-5 times a night to feed and the worst is the nappy change at 2:30am. The sleep deprivation is real but this is how it works for us. Until it doesn’t and I choose to night wean her. Some days I feel great and on top and we make it work so effortlessly and other moments I feel like i’m doing a bad job and she’s UBER fussy! I am so looking forward to the toddler stage!

Love your content! So positive and zero judgement!!! I couldn’t disagree more I think 1 to 2.5 years is the absolute hardest time. I think the first year is easier compare to the tantrums and independence that you want them to have but they have zero sense of danger LOL!! I think when I was a new mom with my first I would have agreed with you until that 18 month autonomy hits and it’s so hard. Love that stage and hate the stage. They are so darn funny during that stage, you want to rip your hairs out and kiss those dirty squishy faces all at ones. Keep up the content! I truly love it! I’m not as granola as you but Love learning new things even when you think you have it down (I’m on my third) there is always room for learning.
