the 60L backpack does not go as a cabin luggage ... so if you want your backpack to make it, get a 40L. Should be enough for a 1-2weeks trip.
@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I can fit it in there on a big plane but 40 liter is defiantly a safer bet! :)

I got the ozark trail double wall insulated quart sized stainless steel water bottles from Walmart several years ago and never bought a water bottle since They've been everywhere .... Thailand... Straya.... Scotland... France.... and even been dropped a few times and they still work For those who are skeptical about using a 60 liter backpack as carry-on in the overhead bin it does work if the backpack is not stuff to capacity you can squish it and it will fit in the overhead bins I do it all the time

Who, the 'blocking the middle seat ' I have so often seen so often this just brings in issues. Each time I have seen this happen around me in a plane, it is a burden for the one who was seated in the middle seat. Alway's there is something. And most of the times it comes to 'the couple ' has the idea the one travelling alone has to be very thankful to them. And has to take the inconvenience of them being loud, having to walk, go to the toilet way often as regular.

Hello, Love your videos!!!! so is this carry-on compliant? or do you normally pay for your luggage? i travel a lot within the states and between cities in Europe...? please advise as Im leaving in 30 days to Europe again and i need a backpack..
@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
I have carried it on but it depends on the airlines. I usually just pay to check to not worry about liquids. But it’s also a pain to carry around a lot so I’d advise on packing for one week for 30 days and just plan on doing laundry
@ileese6 жыл бұрын
As much as I would love to bring my backpacking bags, even at 63L, the frame is just barely meeting some of the airline carry on requirements. Unless the traveler is okay with having to check in the bag, I prefer to always have it carry on with me. Makes for more efficient traveling, getting on and off the plane. I have on many occasions though brought my massive 65L Osprey, fully packed, as a carry on (within the US) because the airline people didn't check. I'm just thinking other international airlines will be strict no?
@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it depends on the airlines for sure. I don’t mind checking it, but simpler is way better!

Where do you put your laptop, it's in the front backpack? And when u travel alone how do you make your electronics like camera and stuff safe when U for ex. Got to the toilet on the airplane?
@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
Yeah the front backpack or in a pocket not easy to access. It’s safe on the airplane, I don’t worry about that at all. But in hostels make sure you bring a lock

@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
I’m thinking about doing it for our 2 month trip to New Zealand! My biggest tip is pack for just a week and layer! Also expect to do at least one load of laundry while you’re out! And stuff dryer sheets in your bag for before the week is up and things are getting ripe(smelly)!
@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
I also did a video on “what I pack for a 2 month trip” earlier this year

How do you do your laundry? I mean...... I know there are laundry places, but I'm worried about losing items / that care instructions aren't followed. I feel like things will be dried/shrink? (LOL, I tend to airdry almost everything @ home)

You’d just have to talk to them. I’m not picky with the stuff I travel with so idk...

does your backpack work as a carry on or is it too big?
@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
It works as a carry on on most airlines! You’re kind of the person who had to put it in sideways if it’s too full.
@loreebunnell77746 жыл бұрын
Living On A One Way I heard that on a lot of airlines that the carry on size is 20 inches. How big is your backpack?
@xoooxthanks69576 жыл бұрын
Loree Bunnell I have a 60L (that can be extended to 70L) backpack and it does not make it through as a carry on unless the airline people do not notice it and ask to measure it... which seems to be rare according to people who have used the same one. I bought another 40L one just to be sure no one would force me to check in my luggage and pay fees .

If any body happens to read this comment and would like to know actual travel packing essentials here’s 10 I can think of off the top of my head: 1 - headlamp or small magnetic flashlight (check out lil Larry, great for reading lights on the countless metal bunk beds) 2 - compression sacks (for packing your clothing & minimizing bulk) 3 - reusable water bottle 4 - collapsible shopping bag (the kind that folds down into itself and is no bigger than your palm) 5 - eyeshades & earplugs 6 - pashmina or shawl (this will be used for anything from a blanket on buses or the beach to a necessity for modesty in religious sights/certain countries) 7 - pack covers for BOTH big pack and day pack (even if you only get caught in one torrential rainstorm, you’ll thank the lord you had it) 8 - on that note, an easily collapsible rain coat (my Eddie Bauer one folds into itself) 9 - a small sealable document protector for carrying important documents, maps, receipts, etc. (mines smaller than a piece of paper and I keep it slid down the backboard of my big pack) 10 - a small assortment of ziplock bags (I keep one of each size, rolled up and also in my backboard). So there ya go. Actual necessities. Travel far and wide my female friends 😘
