so i am old enough to be your dad. if you were my kid, i would be super proud. i teach my kids 2 things. don't be in debt. don't be a burden on society. you need to do a TED talk.
@heyshayla6 жыл бұрын
Exaaactly!! I read a book called Big Magic and this is what I wrote in my journal: "I think they had faith I would always be able to take care of myself because they taught me to. The golden rule in my family is this: if you're supporting yourself financially and you're not bothering anyone else. Then you're free to do whatever you want with your life. Maybe because they didn't worry too much about me, I didn't worry too much about me either. It also never occurred to me to go ask an authority figure to go ask permission to become a writer. I'd never seen anyone in my family ask anyone for permission to do anything They just made stuff. So that's what I decided to do. I decided to just go make stuff."

I 100% agree with using workaway as a means of travel. I’ve had the most amazing experiences using workaway, mostly working in hostels all over the globe. Workaway has allowed to travel to Norway, Turkey, Israel, and Morocco so far and I plan on doing it again! I always recommend it to people looking to travel on a budget. Another benefit of using workaway is long term travel and befriending the locals. It changes your whole experience :)

NO just NO It's especially sad cause then they don't understand that they can do it aswell. They just get jealous and think- yeah whatever her parents payed for that, she must be rich I can't do that. It's so sad cause so many people don't realize if they save up and work for it they could do it aswell, + it is really not that expensive and you can always work on the way (or volunteer).

Every ski resort has crews to clean rooms, make up beds and do laundry, every single day. Those crews usually get room and board, lift pass and minimal income (some do not pay any). This is everywhere Lots of yachts in the charter trade use stewardesses. That is a glorified word for house keeper and servant but, you are in great locations, you meet loads of people and you are in the warm and sun. Yes, you set and help serve breakfast, then clean the staterooms while the guests are off playing, you get to set and help serve lunch, you have some time to maybe windsurf/scuba dive/snorkel/lay in the sun, you set dinner and help serve it and in the end, someone has to wash and someone has to dry those dishes. Pay can be good and the tips can be marvelous.

Yes!!! Stewardess that is what I’m talking about!! I wish I could do it and not get sick!!

Like I mentioned, it is not always glamorous. You could try one of the bigger boats in protected waters, like the BVI. Usually, the motion onboard is not much more than you would experience in other modes of transport.

Find presentations, events, festivals, talks around the things you’re interested in. If you love fashion find events near you you can go to, go interview a professor. Just reach out to anyone in the industry and ask them out to coffee (pay for it) or email them with VERY CLEAR and direct questions. I get “how can I travel” a lot. Those are hard to answer and hard to get back to. “I’m interested in yoga/ finance/ nursing is there any way I could travel with this in South America ” is so much easier to answer and connect people. If I have a good answer!

I recently committed for every Wednesday video and I always dropped interests. When it comes to expenses I think I eat too much crap haha. It's sad really when you realize you just ate a flight ticket :( All good advice thank you x

Hi, I am a full time traveller since one year and I've been living on savings so far. Now I'm looking for jobs, but whatever job I think about there's always one issue that I have no idea how to solve: if I want to work legally, how do I do this in all different countries and for any different kind of job? Are travellers doing this always under the table?

It depends on the job, you can work online. If you work in a place a lot of times it's in exchange for accommodation or food and depending on what it is you might just get paid a little cash fro it

Brilliant! Any advice if you have college debt and such? I suppose hopefully the money coming in covers it!

Nice when you are an American, but when you are from an overregulated country you have to pay shit like social insurance, health insurance, taxes on all your property. It's like 400$ a month, might not sound as much but average salary here is like 1000$. So if you wanna travel you have to save up a lot of money JUST to not go to jail, plus there are of course plane tickets, food etc. Or you can work abroad, which isn't much travelling since you are just working and can't go anywhere.

So I’m planning on taking my first solo trip this summer. I was considering just going somewhere in the US to save money but I would really like to go somewhere out of the country. Where do you suggest I go as like a first timer trip? You’ve really inspired me to make this happen I’m so glad I found your channel

South east Asia is a good cheap and safe place! But South America is also an amazing place! I love it because I live Spanish :)
