one thing I love about pier fishing is how many cool folks you meet, and one reason I hate pier fishing it the whole elbow to elbow thing. I fish to relax not deal with a million lines that never move even when they see you have a fish on that is too big to just heave over the rail. But the people make it fun...thanks for the sharing but wish you spent more time on the videos like you once did. Miss those a lot. I totally am not being critical at all. Just saying I love those when it is about real fishing not hauling up minnows. That would drive me away from fishing if that was all there was to catch. Have a laugh but I actually queue up a bunch of YT fishing videos and your guys are always in the majority. It's fun to see couples & families being playful with each other not subserviently. Your video fishing with just your Mom was maybe my favorite YT fishing video, I really mean that..it was totally endearing. Erin too is a crackup when she starts catching before you can even get a line wet....hahaha, that is always the way, right?

I so agree with you! Learning from locals is the best way to learn how to fish. I moved to northwest Florida 11 years ago from Washington state, and Alaska and the fishing down.here is entirely different. It took about a year of watching and talking to locals in different areas to build my own technique and now I am known in the area as the “Trout Lady” . I have been fishing since I was five years old and I’m in my late 60s now and there is nothing like fishing with locals to learn!

That is called a goofy jig with a teaser. It was south Florida that introduced that rig for pompano and other fishes like Spanish mackerel. It’s a go to rig and very popular in Florida or anywhere in the gulf coast. It’s pretty much a replacement jig for the classic pompano jig 👍🏽

@Hey Skipper - I’ve fished similar methods as you commonly do from the beach. Big surf rods, heavy sinkers, bottom rigs, cut bait... it’s fun BUT I’ve recently gone light tackle only spoons and jigs and I am catching so many more fish. Granted they are smaller, but I’m catching more! It’s still fun just a new way of fishing to master and learning to be more multi dimensional in my fishing. Fishing Gulf coast TX.

When you're fishing with the Sibiti Rig, after you hook one fish, leave it down and the action on all the other hooks attracts more bites. You can pull up 4, 5, or even 6 bait fish at a time. Be prepared for others fishing the same jig to crowd around thinking you are chumming the area and want to get in on the chum.

Dude, you get a local expert to share good info with you and your KZbin audience and he's willing to let you pick his brain, and then someone catches a fish and you completely ignore the guy, mid sentence, like you've never seen anyone catch a fish before. I was really looking forward to hearing and learning something new but unfourtianitly you cut him off.
