For me it was padme saying “stop, come back, come back now, I love you” whilst Luke is being electrocuted by the emperor. Is if he’s thinking it in his head or her presence is there trying to reach out to him to save their son.

“It’s too late for me, son” and “you were right about me” always get me. We all can relate to Anakin in some way. There are times when we’ve massively fucked up, we’ve failed, we didn’t reach our potential. For many of us, it breaks us, we resent ourselves just as Anakin did. I know I felt that way for a long time… yet despite whatever we may have done, we can still choose to do better, to change, to break our shackles and find peace and redemption. Perhaps that’s why Anakin is my favorite character in all of Star Wars, because despite everything he had done, despite his hatred of himself, he was able to finally find redemption and peace through the love of his son. And that is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

Anakin only ever wanted to explore the galaxy and protect the ones he cared about. Sadly, he never went a day his entire life without calling someone else "Master"

@The Beast I think you are reading into the sentiment too much. Essentially what is meant by this is that it's easy to lose yourself in the anarchy and chaos you cause if you are thinking of only the end goal in sight. Anakin did all of this just because he wanted to stop the people he cared about from dying. Granted there are a lot more things going on with him other than just that but that's a general synopsis.

Anakin did some horrible things, but I can't be angry with him at all. If anyone ever had a strong case for an insanity plea, it would be Anakin. His mind was being screwed with from all directions, but his motives were still pure...put an end to the war, creating a peaceful universe. And of course saving Padme's life. The only thing Anakin is guilty of, is being the victim of a manipulative, evil con artist. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Palatine worked to break relations between him and everyone in his life but him. He started a rumor that padme was cheating on him with obi-wan, to break his ties with them. He got Ashoka kicked out of the jedi order, He got the jedi council and Anakin to do things that would drive them apart, and from the age of nine, he acted as a father figure to a boy without a father. There is no way Anakin wouldn't fall.

Anakin lost his mother and did not want to lose his love. He was willing to turn to the Dark Side... for her. Obi-wan tried to save him, but failed. He had already been manipulated and corrupted. When Padme died, he had nothing left. Yes he killed younglings and many others which shows how strong the Dark Side is at changing people. There is no justification for it, he was Darth Vader. Luke never gave up on him though, and brought Anakin back....back into the light. Awesome reaction.

@Fatima Carrano I tend to think if we see him again, it will be in flashbacks or as a force ghost. Which, if you think about it, could still be pretty substantial. Flashbacks to him and Obi-Wan or Ahsoka in The Clone Wars. Or, him visiting Ahsoka after his death. That could all be pretty powerful stuff. Of course if they wanted to do a live-action TCW movie, I’m not exactly going to complain! 😁

The thing we all have in common as star wars fans is that we really wish anakin got the life we wanted and the fact that he was loyal to a jedi order that have lost the jedi way. Anakin could have been the best jedi in the order but the fact that his love for padme was so strong that he was willing to sacrifice everything he had to make sure she wouldn’t die just to become the reason she died. Anakin didn’t just kill the entire jedi order but he killed what he swore to protect and became the thing he swore to destroy. If the jedi order was less judging and more caring about him maybe he would have taken a diffrent approach on the problems he had. But what we all know is that anakin lost his mother he lost the love of his life and the only thing he cared about. The thing that made anakin let go of his hate was the love from his children. I think that anakin didn’t just turn back to the light for his children but for the love of his life. Its almost like he learned that the way he could make padme proud over him was by luke showing that anakin was still their under the armour and the hate of darth vader. What I am trying to say is that Anakin was a good person that I don’t think Anakin is the bad guy. But in reality Anakin was right. The jedi order during Anakins life lost their way. And anakin understood that they stood in they way of piece.

Aniken is my favorite character. I relate to him the most. But I'm slowly coming around to maul. Both sad lives, one meant to be redeemed, one meant to fall. Both used as pawns✌❤
@OneProtagonist4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Maul is fascinating because he doesn't really have any redeeming qualities. He's just a terrible person, but I also feel bad for him because you have to wonder if he was made that way by Palpatine. On the flip side, Anakin is a good person made terrible by Palpatine's influence. They have so much in common.

I m not mad at Ani, he made the poor choices but he came back.. he destroyed the sith ( Palps dies there I don't give a damn about TROS and Vador sacrifice himself ending the sith). To make mistakes or be wrong is human. To admit those mistakes shows you have the ability to learn, and are growing wiser
@OneProtagonist4 жыл бұрын
Growing from mistakes? Sure. I definitely support that. I even support him fulfilling the prophecy. Forgiveness for murdering children, an entire planet, and torturing your daughter... I have a harder time with. IRL I could never forgive that, so it's hard for me to do even in fiction. [Edit] In thinking about it, I feel like it's the word "forgive" that I don't like personally. I just can't think of a word one step away from forgiveness, and that's where I pretty much am.

Anakin made the RIGHT choice to kill Windu, at least according to the Jedi. Anakin is the Chosen One and destined to destroy the Sith Right? He finds the Sith Lord, he tells the Jedi and they STILL DONT TRUST HIM. Beyond that Mace DOES NOT trust the force. How is Mace trying to steal Anakin's destiny according to the force justifiable? I thought the Jedi were supposed to trust the Force? The force tells them Anakin will be the one to kill Palpatine but they don't care.
@OneProtagonist4 жыл бұрын
That is an interesting perspective, but I don’t remember there being a time when Mace out and out made it clear he wanted to be the Chosen One. I can’t even completely fault the Jedi for being somewhat skeptical of Anakin (though over time, they definitely should have seen what Qui-gon did.) In the end, I agree Mace was definitely in the wrong in several ways, but it still didn’t justify Anakin killing him. What Anakin did was out of selfishness, not the selflessness a Jedi is supposed to act upon. At least, that’s my humble opinion.
@thomasdemay98054 жыл бұрын
@@OneProtagonist thanks for reply. That was more Hyperbole but I do think Mace played himself by basically doing that. Anakin had to kill the Sith Lord according to the prophecy. If you stand in the way of prophecy being fulfilled by a true higher power like Force in Star Wars Universe you are dooming yourself to destruction. Mace not only nevered mentored or tried to teach Anakin but he couldn't connect the dots that Anakin was the chosen one when the Force threw the evidence in his face. The guy everyone thinks is the chosen one with the most midichlorians happens to be the guy who discovers the Sith Lord identity after 1000 years. What a coincidence? Mace can't see it and tells Anakin to stay back while he handles it? Mace can't kill the Sith Lord that would deny the prophecy as soon as he made the choice to have Anakin stay home. Had he let Anakin join him it could have played out a different way but he couldn't see it and doomed himself. Was Sideous playing possum to turn Anakin? Was Anakin thinking about Padme? I don't think either matter according to the Force Mace ain't walking out of their alive even if Anakin doesn't show up because it will find a way to make Sideous win so Anakin can kill him later. I don't even think Anakin is thinking about Padme when he kills Mace. I think it's a reflex from his confusion from the many things the Jedi failed to teach him, his connection to Padme, the potential to learn more knowledge of the force by Sideous versus not being a Jedi master while Sideous takes his potential knowledge to the grave. Very confused in my mind more than very selfish. I think force made him almost like a reflex kill Mace. Ironic when Obi Wan says "Ill do what i must" to a child of destiny like Anakin. It's the other way around Anakin is doing what he must because Obi Wan is making a choice to go against the Force and kill the Chosen One.
@TheLegendKayge4 жыл бұрын
I'd say both sides have valid points. Anakin certainly felt disrespected by Mace and the Jedi Council, and rightfully so. But the Council had every reason to be skeptical. (at first anyway) That's when it starts to tip in Anakin's favor. He proved himself on many occasions. Had they granted him the rank of Master on the Council, like he deserved, he wouldn't have felt like an outcast, and wouldn't have been as vulnerable to Palpatine's lies. The Jedi, and their lack of faith in Anakin, gave him a little shove right towards the Emperor. The final straw, of course, was what Anakin thought would be the arrest of Palpatine to stand trial. Mace, acting in complete violation and disregard of Jedi code, attempted to murder an unarmed man in cold blood. (Evil though he may be) Anakin still did the right thing. That's just the way I see it.

I don’t think it was a stupid decision to kill mace and the Jedi because if he is the chosen one he has to destroy Sith and Jedi to bring balance plus the Jedi were corrupt as hell
@OneProtagonist4 жыл бұрын
I just don't subscribe to the idea Anakin only had one path to bring balance. IMHO it all comes down to choices. While the force wanted him to bring balance, his methods were his own. If Anakin could have swayed the Sith to the light and led the reformation of the Jedi, the force would be just as pleased and prophecy fulfilled. (Or a number of other "what ifs.") It was the will of the force that Luke confront Vader. The force wanted Luke (IMHO) to bring him back to the light. However, it was Luke's choice to do so, and Vader or any random stormtrooper could have killed Luke before he got the chance. The force wasn't putting a magic bubble of protection around anyone. Life and death choices and their impact are on the characters' decisions, not some hokey religion ;) Just my interpretation though. GL my completely disagree. lol
