I think they are shipping them overseas or parting them out and the reason i think this is last year in 2021, A buddy of mine that i rides UTVs with had his UTV stolen from his property in the middle of the night, but what they didn't know is he had the apple airtag on his UTV as a poor mans GPS, well when the cops went to the location it stated it was last seen, there was shipping containers at the location full of UTVs, Dirt Bikes, and Motorcycles. The Officer informed us there was more than 400+ vehicles in those shipping containers that were stolen all in the last 3 days prior to this day.

This is like a years and years old method. It has been done for such a long time. Basically since the inception of the wireless signals like this and them becoming huge. They used to do it just for unlocking them and progressed to starting them too. They do something entirely different than this now. They can take a car without the key being there or having ever seen the key at all. Takes a few minutes but that is what they do now.

This also known as "Relay attack". The bandits using the devices can boost the signal from key fobs inside the house or building and it fools the car thinks there's a key inside the car to start without an actual keys. It does applied any cars with keyless system.

This has been happening for awhile. Actually the first time I heard about it was with a Jeep, but any car is vulnerable. You can track your Tesla via your phone to recover it.

They're shipping them overseas! We keep our keys in a copper box upstairs away from vehicles! Plus cameras and sensor lights! We leave a big dog chain hooked up on front veranda! Stay safe

Huh, and here I assumed that each handshake between the fob and the car had a unique identifier so you couldn't just copy the fob's signal. YUUUGE oversight by keyless entry engineers, IMO.

My keyfob is in 3-layers of aluminum foil. They can try but they will FAIL. Aluminum foil is so thin you won't even notice it. You can test this yourself. Lock your car, wrap the keyfob in aluminum foil and go up to the car and you'll see it won't unlock unless you unwrap the keyfop. Always have some aluminum foil with you at all times. It does wonders.
