In this webinar, you will get a deeper understanding on what a hiatal hernia is, how we have had success treating it and the best solution for you.
Webinar Summary:
Hiatal Hernia Syndrome can be effectively treated by addressing the root cause through a personalized program that includes normalizing and treating the gut, addressing structural effects, balancing and toning core muscles, and considering nerve involvement.
00:00
People with Hiatal Hernia Syndrome often experience a range of symptoms that are misdiagnosed as stress or acid reflux, leading to ineffective treatment and compromised digestion in the long term.
04:35
Hiatal hernia syndrome can be resolved by addressing the root cause, which includes normalizing and treating the gut, addressing structural effects, balancing and toning core muscles, and considering nerve involvement.
07:51
Food sensitivities and poor diet are internal causes of hiatal hernia syndrome, and testing for imbalances in the gut can alleviate symptoms such as bloating, gas, acid reflux, constipation, and diarrhea.
11:47
Hiatal hernia syndrome has various root causes and requires a tailor-made program to address symptoms such as shortness of breath, heart palpitations, and panic attacks, as conventional medicine's approach with antacids is not effective and has negative side effects.
15:08
Hiatal Hernia Syndrome can cause intense gut symptoms, even in small or subclinical hernias, and there are myths that there is no cure or natural therapy, but this is not true.
17:23
A personalized program is the cure for Hiatal Hernia Syndrome, addressing the root cause rather than relying on drugs, with an emphasis on the body's ability to heal itself.
20:16
Committing to lifestyle changes and identifying the root cause with Root Cause can successfully treat Hiatal Hernia Syndrome, resulting in symptom resolution and improved sleep and energy levels with an 85% success rate.
22:38
The root cause hiatal hernia syndrome program is tailored to each individual with an integrated approach from a team of doctors, and a free 30-minute consultation is offered to determine if it's a good fit for the patient.
Get lasting relief from your symptoms through treatment at Root Cause Medical Clinic - the #1 Clinic Treating Hiatal Hernia Syndrome Naturally

My brother and I cycle in nearby mountains. He was diagnosed decades ago with a very moderate hiatal hernia. But it only ever bothers him every few years. He just puts some water in his mouth and drops hard onto his heels while gulping down the water to resolve that. He used to sometimes experience a very short, sharp pain in his upper-left chest between the throat and the nipple. He would then experience palpitations for about 10 minutes. He would finally burp and all symptoms went away. He learned that if he quickly swallowed a fizzy drink before cycling, he would then burp and have no more chest pain or palpitations cycling up the hills. 2 years now and no more problems.

I had a slip disk in my back. And I noticed that it was affecting the tightness just above the esophagus in my stomach and it was painful, but I noticed upon massage that the impulses were coming from the spine and the nerves were coming out right at that spot.

It saddens me that are health care system is so messed up in the U.S. Doctors really don’t care. They are stuck in their ways and just want their work day to be over like everyone else. It’s a shame we pay so much in healthcare costs for poor quality help. I salute this doctor for thinking outside the box. 😁

Omigosh 1000xs worse in SA. All I have learnt has come from alternative drs on US on internet and Dr Gupta from York in UK. The struggle just makes one feel hopeless when all drs. here look at you and treat you as if its all in the head. I have even developed lymph cancer in psoas, which I swear has to do with longterm ppis and this is the 1st time in my journey of trying to find answers, which began 2011, that I have even heard psoas is connected to this problem. I always feel like info comes one puzzle piece at a time and sooooo slowly, with constant searching, that there are times I could howl with hopelessness and frustration, especially seeing I cant get any dr to listen to me or take me seriously.😢😢😢 Thabk you for this channel and info I hsve just found.

Private issurance is worthlesss since we are supposed to have ntnl health they dont cover much, so you end up paying twice, once thru your taxes and then repaying in private care. Drs. decided to profit from their turf as much as poss . So we get less and less svce and their costs keep riising.....

It’s great that your practice helps to correct the root causes of the problems. I recently started to limit all sugar from my diet including cutting out bread, baked goods, junk foods and fried foods. I eat Salmon, Cod grilled chicken, eggs and vegetables. I also fast for 16 hours a day. I have GERD, Hiatal Hernia and Fatty Liver Disease. The American Diet is to blame. Some Doctors only prescribe drugs, but do little if anything to help people solve the root cause. I was told many times that my panic attacks and palpitations were all in my head. I wish I found your practice much sooner.

Having 4 children was nothing compared to this pain . 4 yrs, suffering . My blood pressure would rise to 240/93 easy . I would run to the ER for help, 😢, no treatment at all because no diagnoses . You are definitely god sent! I have experienced so many symptoms for the last 10 years trying to explain them to drs or close family/friends & it’s so frustrating because people tend to think you’re crazy, when in fact you know your body & you know something’s not right. Been to primary care on a regular different specialist & hospital visits to only diagnosing anxiety & obesity. I don’t have allot of heartburn unless I eat something to agitate it I really don’t experience allot of pain with my hiatal hernia either but I do experience all the other symptoms & it’s just getting worse. Thank you so much for all your videos after all these years I finally have the answer😢

ANOTHER SYMPTOM . I had tingling in my calves and in the center of my feet. Once I was diagnosed with hiatal hernia and started to do my own research; I started doing belly breathing exercises and the tingling in my legs and feet stopped. What I've concluded from that was somehow nerves were being compressed and affected my body elsewhere.

I am now doing Keto and intermittent fasting and have noticed some improvement. So glad I found you, will be very much so following yours and your teams lead 🙏 thankyou so much

Spinal nerve damage, at 27 (10 years ago), 120k of debt (not counting the 50k I need to fix my teeth now), 5 years barely able to move enough to work or maintain my house, hundreds of SVT episodes and a handful of AFib episodes and I'm still not out yet and can't sleep anywhere near flat... BIGGEST help so far has been stopping by the meds that made it all worse, Carnivore diet, learning to hold my breath when bending or lifting and cutting every toxin I can possibly think of (soaps, shower filters, water filters, plastic clothing, cooking pans/utensils, expensive foods, ECT,ECT).... It has stopped me from having children and every hobby I had...... Praying daily for help to get my life back that doesn't make me lose my house... I think Linx surgery is my final try.

Unfortunately because big pharma, main stream medical and insurance companies are all holding hands and sharing profits. Medical practitioners who utilize the functional medicine practices (treating the cause, not the symptoms) are not covered by insurance. Hmmmm. This is unfortunate but these functional medicine practitioners still need to make a living. It simply is going to cost the consumer more

You're welcome. It will be important once you get your results to get to the root cause of the hiatal hernia and thereby be able to wean you off the antacid (PPI) successfully. The long-term problems associated with PPI use can be dangerous. There is a root cause if you'd like to address it. It's fine that you live in Europe. We offer telemedicine across the U.S. and in some countries in Europe. If you'd like assistance please contact us at 727-335-0400 and we can set up a consultation. I have Spinal Imbalances with Cervical Instabilities, which are affecting so much in my body I am a sufferer for decades! I'm 72 and much of this all started when i was 31 or so. I point out that per a Cervical MRI - my first taken - in 2012 denoted that I have a More Narrow Than Normal Spinal Canal. According to the Mayo Clinic - only 5% of the population have this abnormality. With the amount of OA in my spinal discs, DDD throughout, Lumbar / Thoracic Dextroscoliosis of 25 degrees (created by a Leg Length Discrepancy of a 1" shorter right leg as a result of a Femur fracture in 1966).

I haven't been diagnosed yet, but I can relate to 95% of this informational video. I went to the ER and they said I was full of stool and sent me home with magnesium citrate and a script for colace 100mg twice daily for 10 days. I do feel constipated (not able to fully empty my bowels and less frequent bowel movements), however, my main complaint is epigastric pain. Right under my breast bone. Some gerd but nothing crazy and some heart burn. I also get this weird wheezing feeling on occasion. I eat a whole foods diet with plenty of water and fiber. I had to eliminate fruits and honey because they caused me to have sharp pain along with the constant ache in my diaphragm. Also burping frequently. Leading up to the constant dull ache and occasional sharp pains in the epigastric area, I felt a weird sensation in my esophagus. Like something was stuck in there. I do intermittent fasting and often eat a large meal in the evenings. I can't do that currently as I get severely bloated and get heart burn. The dull ache weirdly subsides for a little while after eating only to return a couple hours later. I do get heart palpitations as well... I should mention I was on SSRI for 22 years and recently got off of them(15 months ago) but have been having a ton of psychological and physical symptoms. It's been a rollercoaster ride in hell, honestly... I have a few appointments with my PCP and a GI doctor as well as a naturopath doctor this week. I live in Bradenton . It looks like you're close by. If I get the diagnosis I'm thinking I'll get I'll probably reach out to you for help in the near future. Very Blessed to have found your video! Take care.

I have now gained about 10 lbs. and it is not going away. I exercise and try to eat properly. I do have a VA doctor who sent me for an endoscopy and results were normal for pathology and for my CT scan. Report showed a Medium Hiatal Hernia. I also now have neck and shoulder pain. I started taking 250 mg of simethicone for relief of the bloating , gases and pressure. I anticipate another appointment with my VA doctor so that we can discuss this further. I'm not able to eat nearly as much as I used to and have cut back on fatty foods. Just hoping for better ideas on how to treat !

Wow this has opened my eyes to what has been a problem for me since 2018.. My initial symptoms where feeling bloated and chest pains which caused me to panic thinking it was a heart attack I was diagnosed with stress panic disorder and prescribed ssri’s which I refused to take.. I coped with the panic attacks and became anxious not knowing when I’d have another episode and have managed to cope since that point.. Ive always had acid reflux but usually treat this with over the counter antacid treatments and thought nothing of it untill recently i had what I thought was a sore throat from hell which wouldn’t go away.. Went to see gp and was referred to endoscopy to find I have a 2cm sliding hiatal hernia and barrats osophagus.. The syndrome to speak of is exactly what all my symptoms are since 2018 and the doctors never picked up on it at that point and said it was mental health issues. Every symptom you said I have had for a long time now and i now realise the pressure in my chest the bloatedness and shortness of breath are because I have thos syndrome and have been mis diagnosed back in 2018.. I just need to work out how to get this sliding hernia to go down and to stay down becauese even at 56 years old I have fabulous core strength and regularly go to kickboxing and mainatain a healthy weight.. My diet is appalling to be honest and this is what’s caused gerd to begin with but ive leant more about this condition in one video than any doctor could have told me for years thanks for this info I feel I can try to resolve something now that I know exactly what it is I’m suffering with ❤❤

My mother just passed away, they said they saw lesions on her liver, they just passed it off as cancer and wouldn't treat her, they were going to drain her lungs, but instead they decided that it will fill back up anyway. They wouldn't feed her nothing for the first 5 days in Detroit Henry Ford because they were going to run tests, but she didn't like the taste of the solution, she was begging to eat, by the 5th day she was so weak, i made them give her food, she ate like a horse, by the next day i thought she had a stroke, no idea what happened, but the doctor said she was just tired. I told the doctor i sent all her records from st. Joes over to HF, his reply was that he didn't have time to go thru 84 years of records, i said i just wanted him to look at last year because i noticed it said she had a moderate to severe hiatal hernia, he said that hiatal hernias aren't serious, i told him yes they can be and that most of her symptoms seemed like it was from that. I could go on and on the nightmare of how she was treated, she walked into the hospital, frail, but talking and walking, on September 15th, she couldn't communicate after a week, and was dead by Oct 11th. 😢

Exactly. I’ve been miserable for years. At one time dr prescribed Zoloft. They prescribed very expensive medications to block acid. Thank the Lord I decided to change diet. Never took the first pill. Everyone called me idiot. Now my 20 year old son is suffering. He went to the doctor and first thing they prescribed Zoloft. He didn’t take it but still won’t listen to me about lifestyle. He keeps saying everyone else can eat this and they are fine. I’m not giving up on him

If a hiatal hernia is bleeding, it can cause anemias. Iron, b12 etc… Aside from the nutrients lost from improper digestion and adsorption , having an internal slow bleed. As a Doctor gifted with a hiatal hernia (yes I said gifted) you are correct about the many different associations you mentioned plus...pain...yikes! I will say this...yes it is in your brain, some of those psychological symptoms...the brain has a huge association with the gut and organs. However, the simulation goes BOTH WAYS. Anxiety causes gut symptoms for some. And gut disorders causes Anxiety and mind symptoms... I conclude all science must take into account the mind or it is insufficient and needs to go back until it does. My symptoms come on with bulging. I was taught by Ayurveda person to drink water. Amazing. Then i have to eat sufficiently. Mine arose because of low intake of protein circumstances 😢. Sometimes I have to lay down to push hernia up and in. On Drugs to help Know this patients and doctors... If you seek the one drug wonder YOU ARE A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO THE NOW EVER PREVALENT DRUG CULTURE. You look up to the Doctor's prescription and look down on the street drug addict 🤔Same ilk! Good to see you Doc and your group like me in addressing many health issues connection. Good luck to your group 👍🏾

Five years ago I had a moderate hiatal hernia. Now it's large. Getting heart palpitations. Went to heart doc. Said it's genetic cuz I told him my mom had that. For 8 months now been doing intermittent fasting 16 hrs a day. I don't get heartburn anymore and no reflux. I do get pain in my stomach/chest and heart palpitations. I wish I can do the program. I've had hiatal hernia and GERD, ad well as pretty much all the other symptoms mentioned in thise video, for over 15 years. I was taking PPIs for almost the entire time. My GI just switched me to something safer last year because he finally listened to me when I said I was worried about long-term side effects. Every meal makes me feel bloated, and I can literally feel all of my organs pushing upward. I get short of breath a lot after eating as well. My quality of life is just awful, and my symptoms are just getting worse, and my doctors are no help at all. I wish there was a root cause clinic near me.

If I lay on my right side, I fall into a deep sleep REM. However, this is when I often wake up nervous and breathless and sometimes experience extreme tachycardia. I have talked to my cardiologist, GP, endocrinologist etc and of course there's no answer. They say the symptoms are unrelated. Yet, when I sleep on my right side I feel I'm causing compression to my stomach, pancreas or liver. It is difficult for me not to turn on my right side during sleep because I have a difficult time falling asleep most nights. I was eventually admitted to hospital due to diabetes and dizziness where I was told I had VVS and was prescribed anti-vertigo medication. It doesn't work and does not solve the problem.

What’s wrong with the diet with people that have a hiatal hernias is they go to the doctor and the doctor desist change your diet? What exactly does that mean? What are you supposed to eat? I mean really think about that. In a busy life. We have two kids constantly on the go baseball practice basketball practice band. What exactly are you supposed to eat or prepare in a timely manner that you have in the lifestyle you’re in? This is a serious question.

@@rochelle1055 When you slow down, that means you can start dying. But your diet really doesn’t have anything to do with the Heidel hernia. I had my hiatal hernia repaired several years ago but I still have these bouts of “bubble guts” that come with this relentless heart flopping! It seems to have no rhyme or reason sometimes it will happen for a few days in a row, then not again for a month or so. Sometimes I have the tummy thing with no heart palpitations. but I don’t think I ever have the palpitations without the tummy thing! Rubbing or pushing downward at the hiatus area seems to help so it’s definitely related!

Taking K2, calcium D3, and magnesium for some strange reason helping. I had a sample lying around and took it like 10 months ago at night and Years of asthmatic cough especially at night waking up took off the pressure. No one could tell me why. I took magnesium on its own and didn't do this relief. Yes, no one could diagnose and have to do it ourselves its sad. I have no voice my vocal cords are affected waking up to acid issues. and I even sleep elevated. But so far my sleep has gotten better since I don't forget to take this mixture before bed. Yes, my diet is plantbased and GF to eliminate irritation and heavy protein reduction helped as well. Anyone has an experience including K2 helping as well?

Are you saying a sliding large hernia can be CURED? Without meshing it via operation? Because you’re saying pretty detailed things about hernias but then being broad about how this could heal via a tailored experience. Now if you mean it’s just therapy to manage the hernia that’s one thing. And reversing a very small sliding one and it healing is another. But to say this can cure hernias is misleading, is it not? Or is it always possible? Genuinely asking.

In the uk at least, it seems the only way they can determine a hiatus hernia and other stomach problems is by endoscopy and often more than once. Not a pleasant procedure. Because i have a friend who experienced life changing problems after a botched endoscopy I turned that down. They reluctantly offered an mri scan instead more for my peace of mind i expect (thats the hospital NOT the GP who refused because i would not agree to an endoscopy) and several focused barium swallows which found nothing wrong in particular. The specialists at the hospital were sympathetic and kinder than the GP who was obnoxious. Well, In my case the symptoms are a sensation of anxiety which can morph into stomach pain , palpitations, nausea , tightness in swallowing , upper abdominal sensitivity, neck ache, prickly sensation in the back of the throat, like a cramp of some sort, spasms and of course breathlessness, Just to name a few. Had all that for over 10 years! We don't have specialised treatment centres for this in the uk as far as i know, and if we did i expect the cost would be prohibitive. Therefore largely one had to find the best way forward on ones own. Now, Ive tried a number of different diets, none worked particularly well, I do take ppi ( lanzoprazol) but not every day! In my case the best way i found to ease the situation is dont over eat, raise the bed up at the back at least 6 inches so you sleep at a slant, and dont bend or squeeze the abdomen. Sleep on the back but slightly on the left hand side. Walking seems to help. For mild symptoms I also lighly massage the upper abdomen which seems to act as a destraction , a nurse years ago advised me that, and it works, for me at least. Great video! Reassuring to find somebody that understands the problem where most of the medical profession apparently does not and in some cases will not.

Hi Dale. I happened to be putting up a video and saw your comment. I'm not always so punctual! Acid reducing medications are not the best approach. Since you aren't yet on them I would very much like to speak to you before you start them. They have side effects and sometimes make the issue worse since, believe it or not, you can have reflux due to too little acid. What I recommend is that we set up a consultation and do an in-depth history and figure out the best approach to resolve the hiatal hernia for good. You've enjoyed good health, there's no reason you can't continue that. Please consider calling us for a consultation: 727-335-0400. We have a high success rate and would be delighted to help you.

The blessing though is that my symptoms are no longer painful (I have the rest of the syndrome tho) and I’m not sure surgery is worth it. I’ve heard that it can make things worse.
