I couldn’t tell the difference either. About the same slide mass reciprocating in the Gen 3 and Gen 4. The recoil in 10mm happens too fast to notice any difference in my opinion. The G20 is among my favorite Glocks.

I had a Gen 4 G20 10mm and I loved the finger grooves coming back, the three magazines (although, I bought from a Pawn Shop and it only had one mag, why a person who is pawning a firearm, needs magazines for a gun they no longer have is beyond me, unless they want a Gen 5 or future generations). I love the gel cushioned side grips. I really enjoyed it, but even with the double recoil spring and the full size barrel and frame, it had a decent kick to it. I would say stick to the best generation, which is, IMO, the best. It even single cycled .40 S&W but I only did that for a few mags worth of ammunition toot fuck up the extractor, which broke on my Beretta PX4 Storm .45 ACP, great gun, well Beretta, so goes without saying. The Gen 5 has no new or added safety features, no finger grooves and only is differentiated by the ambidextrous slide release button, which has sucked on all Glocks, they should make it more beefy. Quality firearm, nevertheless.
@Wildwestwrangler
@Wildwestwrangler Жыл бұрын
@@davsny5they did beef it up a bit on the gen 5. Also gen 5 has a more accurate barrel, and if you're a good shooter you'll notice the difference as the gen 5 barrels group better, and the gen 5 triggers are improved over gen 1-4.

@@moneygettaextraordinar722 I want to and will own a Glock at some point because of their historical significance. Make real good guns that work very reliably (shoot without a problem the overwhelmingly vast majority of the time). But I think, personally, that if Gaston's last name had been Johnson or Wagner, etc. they might not be in business anymore unless the guns were at WalMart for $299. Which would be a heck of a deal for a gun of Glock's quality though at that price. Need a longer finger nail to operate one of those plastic parts though. Glock makes good guns. But has the best name of anybody in history to pull out in the hood lol. I want one as I said for sure but it wont be my go to in a self defense situation. keemy.

I have both gens in 10mm. I prefer the gen3 because it’s so much easier to choose different recoil springs and guide rods for the various hotter loads. The gen3 just gives one more options based on the load one chooses to carry. For regular factory loads, I keep my Gen 4 loaded with them. For hotter DoubleTap, underwood or BuffaloBore, I prefer the gen3 all day long. Currently my gen3 has a stainless uncaptive guide rod with a wolff 22lb spring, loaded with 200gr DoubleTap lead hardcast bullets. It’s my last ditch bear backup gun on bear rifle hunts.

I have a gen 4 G31. Kept getting stoppages at the range and it took me a while to figure out what was happening. Gen 4’s (and 5’s) decided to improve on perfection and move the mag release back a bit and make it enormous. Apparently I was inadvertently bumping the mag release somehow. Slap the bottom of mag and back in battery. Got home and added the next up size back strap and problem solved. Has not happened since.

Hickok45 has big hands. To a mere mortal like myself, the gen3 G20 grip, even the SF version, was too big to get a comfortable grip on. My gen4, with the smallest backstrap installed, is perfect for me. I love it, it’s now my favorite Glock. Apropos to nothing, I just rewatched Strain 100, just to see the ending. Actually, it's the other way around. You can find a large array of recoil spring weights for the Gen 3, up to a 24# spring and everything in between. As a matter of fact, many convert their Gen 4's to the Gen 3 recoil spring system, or at least they use to. The flat wire recoil spring on the Gen 3's will go a long way before you need to replace them.

I also own a Gen 3 20SF and a Gen 4 20 and cannot feel any difference between them. I also have 40 S&W barrels for them and cannot tell any difference with that caliber. I also own some Glock 9mm's in Gen 3 & 4, again, no difference that I can feel. I have a Gen 4 21 in 45 acp, but do not have a Gen 3 mate to compare that one with. One thing though, they all shoot very well every single time, and I was a very hard sell years ago being a hardcore 1911 and HiPower shooter for so many decades. When I retired a good friend asked me to manage his Gun Shop while I was waiting for my wife to retire, and during that time he sent me to the Glock school; I've been hooked ever since! And BTW, that was a great retirement job, I loved every minute of it and was able to use 100% of my Gun Shop salary towards store credit for nearly four years. It was a dream come true...

@@kalanipitmon7817 My point was that my Glock 29 constantly jammed regardless of what ammo I used, which magazine I used, or how well it was cleaned/lubed. It also jammed for anyone else who fired the gun. I now have over a thousand rounds through my XDM Elite Compact ranging from weak range ammo to full power Buffalo Bore without a single hiccup. Glock makes excellent 9mm pistols, I just wouldn’t trust one of their 10mms.

I have only owned Gen 3 glocks 21, 26 and 30s, 19 and a Glock 43. They we're always reliable and shot fine. I wished they came with 3 mags instead of two. I always wanted a 10mm, but with ammo so hard to find, I'll stick to guns that shoot easier to find and cheaper ammo.

It's funny that you made this video right now. I have been deciding between a Glock 20 and a Glock 29 and I am leaning towards the G20. Now I don't know which generation Glock 20 to get, the Gen3 or Gen4. Maybe you should have waited until you put the Talon grips on the Gen 4 before you attempted this comparison. Maybe you could try it again once you get the grips put on. 👍
@fight4ourright306

G29 is pointless as a 10mm for EDC or woods carry. Get the slim frame (SF) G20 it's concealable and has full 15rd loads. Gen 3 very reliable, cheaper, and easiest to find custom parts. Gen 4 reliable and comes with Match grade barrel but not as customizeable at the moment. Either one you cant go wrong.

I have the Glock 29, Glock 20, Glock 30, and Glock 21. I enjoy them all. My group use the Glock 21 and 30 as carry guns. The 30 is for on body carry and the 21 for off body carry in my go bag. There are several reason we choose these firearms for that purpose, cost, reliability, and in my part of the country the Glock and in particular the 21 and 30 are the choose of LEOs in this area. I enjoy your channel very much Ricky from IBM, Ret

@@dmonster1528 as I live in a rural area, they already have for many years. As I said, the sheriff’s departments have selected this as their duty side arm. In Los Angeles where I lived for a large part of my life LAPD has chosen this as one of their duty side arms. There are many mountainous areas and deserts areas there and in all these varied rural areas these firearms work flawlessly. Although I must say my 2 favorite side arms are 1911s and S&W 3rd Gen Stainless steel side arms in .40 and .45 ACP. For a time these were issued to LAPD and CHP(Califorina Highway Patrol). I hope this answers your question(s)

@@dmonster1528 I own 3 Glock 21s and 30s. These are part of a self defense system. I also own the Glock 20 and 29. The reason has to do with defense in a court of law. On advise from firearms Attorneys both in Los Angeles and here in on the Gulf Coast of Florida they recommend using the firearms and ammo as the typical Deputy/Officer. This has to do with the ability to defend your choice of firearm and caliber if you have to defend yourself from an attack and they again defend yourself in a court of law. Speak with a firearms attorney in your area and see what they say. As stated above, my favorite side arms are 1911s and S&W 3rd Gen Stainless Steel handguns in .40 and .45 ACP but that is not what law enforcement use in my area and in Los Angeles. FYI - LAPD SWAT use 1911 specially design and built for them. When I was training with members of that team I used 1911s and S&W 3rd Gen .45 ACP. The S&W handguns are still authorize on duty side arms for patrol officers I hope this answer your questions.

@@k4vms I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. The reason this is so near and dear to my heart is i have a gen 4 g21 with about 100 rounds thru it and i think the world of it. Previously i had a g30 never fired it and sold it for half the price bc i wanted something with longer grip and barrel length. B4 that i had a .40 smith wesson and my very first was a hi point lol Anyway its come to my attention that the g20 in 10mm is getting a lot of attention. As it's the most powerful glock in production. The capacity is a little better. Is there a big difference in recoil between the 21 and 20? If it was based on pure performance which one do you prefer? I really like how the 21 performs with the right hollow points. The 20 has the best penetration of any caliber i've seen. I'm really stubborn about my guns having to be brand new. If i was able to purchase a 20 but it meant losing my 21 what advice would you give me? I live in the city but i would like to hunt occasionally lol I'm so thankful for ur help and if u read all this crap then I'll be looking forward to hearing your opinion. I think I've turned it to a gun fanatic lol 2nd amendment and all that lol
