Sorry for changing my channel name so much, I think I'm gonna stick with this one for real this time, I might switch it to something like "Charlie's Café" which does kind of sound better. Either way, I'm still keeping the general idea. I changed it from 'DS Café' to 'Café Replay' so that I could cover more than just DS games, Now it's 'Café Charlie'. I changed it this time so that I come off as an actual person not just a channel. Hope you don't mind!

I think you should call it Nintendo cafe
@CafeCharlie2 жыл бұрын
@@wasd4340 I considered that a while ago but it was already taken, plus I want it to be something more personalized.

You should name it “Nintendo cafe” but find a way to put a letter or character to get that name somehow

The map of the surrounding areas of Super Bell Subway looks extremely similar to the city below N64 Rainbow Road, they’re both a circle surrounding a point.
@CafeCharlie Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's the N64 Rainbow Road city for sure, the shore line is even the same with the bridge and everything. I might make a video just dedicated to cool track connections like that once I've explored more tracks. Thanks for watching!

They both have the same Statue of Liberty parody in the background too for that matter

That's the reason why this is my number one favorite track. I just enjoy racing on it and being exposed to such a ridiculous amount of detail! Nice video highlighting it, by the way :)

I adore how you added an echo effect to your voice when talking about the tunnel.

I won't lie, I've been kinda obsessed with little details like this in MK8 lately, and upon looking further, almost every track has a bunch of worldbuilding tidbits to be found. Not sure if there's another video you've covered this on yet, but my favourite one so far is GBA Ribbon Road having a boxart in the background that shows the Toad Toy Store logo, which is the shop you drive across the roof of in Toad Harbour, so you're basically racing on a track manufactured in a completely different track lol

I sure did cover it! I've got a Mario Kart playlist, most of which is oriented around MK8 track details, including Ribbon Road.

@@CafeCharlie funnily enough, I clicked on your channel after making this comment and found the playlist, which I'm listening to right now as we speak. Only just finished Volume 1 but this is amazing so far. Really glad these secrets are finally being discussed after so long.
The level of detail you pointed out here corresponds well with my comment on the Coconut Mall video about background and scenery design being important to help a place feel alive. The absolute care they put into these tracks is fascinating, and the pastry cards prove it.

4:20 the map shown here is of Mushroom City, which is both inside Super Mario Party, and it is also the locations of N64 Rainbow Road, Moonview Highway, and Toad's Turnpike

Yeah I actually did a video about that city, it's one of my more recent videos in my Mario Kart playlist. Interesting stuff!

Some people say that the intercom for the station is speaking in german and im not sure what it says but a comment said that it was about the 5:14 ICE train having a delay, if that is true than someone at nintendo must have visited germany and recorded it

There's probably very happy developers, directors, and artists watching their art being appreciated out there, and they're probably silenced by nintendo lmaoo.

Gosh the base game Mario Kart 8 tracks were so lively and it makes me so upset that the Booster Course pack so far pales in comparison. Take Coconut Mall for example. Coconut Mall in this game is a great track like it always has been, don't get me wrong, but it feels like the longer you stare at it the more and more... dead it seems. There are cute little details in this track, but you can tell that you weren't meant to stare at them for too long, as you start to notice things like empty shelves, no brands or anything (at least inside the store), and just the bare minimum of what a store in the background should have. Don't even get me started on the fact that if you look at the glass roof thing on the first escalator bit, you can see the inside of the track. The track seems to lose detail the longer you stare at it, while meanwhile with tracks like Super Bell subway it just seems to get more detailed the longer you stare at it. I guess it doesn't really matter since when you're racing you're not going to notice this, but still it's something I miss.
