I played hide and seek with my Siamese cat and also tag. We would switch off in hide and seek. That cat could really hide.

​​@@k1roextophia28 They wouldn't have eye problems if the place is pitch black lol no human can see properly see in pitch black, only if it's low light level/very dark. I think what they meant to say is how they can manoeuvre and remember where everything is, so more sensory than vision

Makes sense.(literally). Dogs are scent trackers, then sound, THEN sight in order of priority. For the bed they were able to ballpark it pretty easily but the precise location took them a moment... The hallway was easy ....the bathroom most likely had weird acoustics and too many scents to easily Trace.

It's nice but a lot of hard floors which is slippery for dogs and potentially dangerous running on stairs. Guess this house is in a hot place. Colder places usually have carpets everywhere, even on stairs.

We all know about dogs’ superior sense of smell and hearing, but don’t forget their night vision. Dog vision has several advantages above humans vision. Their retinas have a high number of rods for detecting light in low light conditions. Humans have mostly cones for color detection. They have a structure in their eyes called the “tapetum lucidum” which is like a mirror and bounces light around inside their eyes which works to amplify the light - it’s what causes you to see the light in their eyes at night, as in the video. Humans don’t have them. They have a higher “flicker fusion frequency” which allows them to see smaller movements faster than humans. Lastly, their eyes are more on the sides of their head, which gives them a wider field of view than humans have.

I also played hide and seek, but not in the dark, with my mixed-breed terrier. She could find me anywhere in the house and even in the backyard so fast. I think small dogs can be good trackers too.
