I just got the Mars 2 Pro. I am impressed with it. And yes, the adhesion to the build plate is very good. So far I've only been using the water washable resin but that is still pretty good. I too had a problem with the lion print, the left rear leg had a misprint. I added a couple of supports and tried again and it printed just fine.

What would the resin fumes be like in a bedroom with this? It'd be next to a window, but very curious. I've been told the fumes while being in the same room is probably not ideal while it's on but while it's off is fine. I live in a very small apartment and the only space i'd have is in our bedroom. Should I be ruling out a resin printer altogether? It feels like an acrylic printer would have the high standards i'm finding I enjoy seeing from a resin printer but may be the only option for us to have it printing while being in the same room? My next question would be, what's your opinion if i made a housing for it so that it was ventilated out through a window and the entire space was technically sealed so that all of the fumes were released through that window, rather than just leaked out into the bedroom. Would you still recommend skipping a resin printer altogether then?

Yeah one complaint I have about the Mars 2 pro is the build plate stick TOO well. I have actually used the scrapper with a hammer to get a lot of my prints off. Getting a magnetic flex plate was a heavenly night and day decision. Definitely recommend getting one. The printer itself is great. It is my 1st printer and all error in prints are basic learning curve errors involving supports.

Well it depends on whether you want the carbon filter or a 2k panel vs the 1080 of the sonic mini. Mars also is slightly larger in build volume. If those things are not necessary for you then thing wrong with saving some money. The mini is a great machine as well.

Found there are minor differences (carbon filter, 10mm smaller print and different print surface) between the Mars 2 Pro and the Mars 2. Just dropped $270 on the Mars 2 - the Mars 2 Pro was $600 on Amazon and a little outside my budget at this point. I'll let you know my results and thank you for the guidance.

@@amduck4883 Yep, and the Mars 2 (mono) is $235. I'm on print number two, and 1. I can't smell anything, and 2. I had a few extra bucks to spend on accessories (extra FEP film, UV lights, PPE). It's not quite as fast, but that's really it. I honestly don't know how a carbon filter (that I can't get at) would make this thing smell less than it already does, which is barely at all. Do I have Covid? Lol.

There's always something. Apparently the mono screens do not have tempered glass on top, just the polarizer. Complaints are that they scratch incredibly easily - even just by dragging a piece of paper across the screen while leveling. Really wish the manufacturers would dial these printers in a little more before releasing to market.

Just spray freezing gas (compressed air can upside down), or put the base in icy water, or just put the base in the freezer for a few minutes and it will pop off the base. It's physic. Metal shrinks with cold and statues will literally self detach.

It's normal. It deals with how you place them on the plate more so than the plate itself. So if you're good at playing "mini" Tetris you'll be able to pack the build plate on any resin printer.

Great video! I have one of these as well and it's been mostly good. I have some complaints about how easy it is to scratch or muck up the screen and the build plate surface. Also, I've had problems with the mono LCD screen randomly failing to expose properly. A reboot resolves this, and I'm working with Elegoo support on a fix. Otherwise, it's a great printer, especially for minis/terrain. Pro-top on things getting stuck to this printer's build plate: cold is your friend. One trick I like to use is taking a can of compressed air, hold it upside down, and spray it directly at the build plate, focusing on the perimeter of the print. The pressurized gases expelled in this way come out at super cold temps (careful not to spray on your skin or gloved hands - it will burn you) and will dramatically and quickly drop the temperature of the build surface, causing the build surface and the print to contract from one another. Sometimes the piece will just pop right off while doing this, but at the very least it should make it much easier to pry off. If that doesn't work, you can try cleaning off the excess resin from the print and plate as much as you can, and then stick the plate + the piece in your freezer for 10 minutes or so.

My machine only prints the first few layers and they're on the fep. I've tinkered around with curing times and upped them to 8 seconds and 60 seconds bottom time, and same result. Extremely sad. I even level after each heartbreaking 2 dimensional print. Any help 😔

@@AdvancedSquadLeader yes and no. Very slight scuffing if you aren't careful, but it didn't affect print quality.
