I made this tonight and added garlic powder to the crust... it was a bit crumbly for a dough--consistency was like cake--next time I wil, add some egg Whites I think to hold it together.... it really is quite good! Nutritious and delicious! the only thing is that I greased the parchment paper well and it still stuck to it badly! But I love this recipe and will make it again! Thank you for such a healthy recipe!

@@Yes2LifeShow Oh dear! I didn’t freeze the parchment so it stuck! I wasn’t going to waste a bit I so scraped off the top layer and it was delicious. I love the flavor of red lentils cooked this way. I will give it another go. Today I made the brown lentil and potatoes, I had never consider those together though I do often make a cold potato and chickpea salad that I love. So I’m eating this chunky stew like concoction and it’s delicious. I haven’t given it a purée yet, likely I’ll store it whole and decide tomorrow the quantity to purée. 🌟 Yum I even added a dash of Tamari to my serving, I never would have considered either that or Soy sauce with this combo of veggies. So good. Thank you. Stay well 🌼

I made it. I either didn’t make the crust thin enough or I didn’t cook it long enough. Probably it was too thick. It took me a couple bites to decide I liked it. It took my husband one bite. I used different toppings (carmelized onions with garlic and bell peppers) because that’s what I had. All in all, this was a very good and interesting recipe. I look forward to making it again and making the crust thinner. Keep the high protein recipes coming. Thank you!

@@Yes2LifeShow The lentil crackers. I think I made them a bit too quick my first time so I need to try them out again - this time a bit thinner so that they are more crunchy ;-)
@boulderfighters25903 жыл бұрын
@@Yes2LifeShow So I tried the lentil pizza today. It was quite good! Next time I might put a bit less nutritional yeast on it. Was a tiny bit too much. But definitely a good vegan alternative to a classical pizza. One small question: You write that one pizza has about 78g of protein. In order to get 250 g of soaked lentils I took about 125 g of dried lentils. But in this way I do not nearly reach 78g of protein. Am I missing something or you just have super super high protein lentils? :-D Mine have 26g per 100g.

Hello! For how long do the lentils have to be soaked?
@daglichtzien2 жыл бұрын

@@Yes2LifeShow Thanks! I tried it, and though I have to say nothing really compares to a real pizzacrust ;) it was very tasty! Unlike the buckweatflour pizza I tried recently and which was more like a pancake, this one has some bite and was even a bit crunchy round the edges. It sticks a lot to the baking paper, wonder if there is a trick to prevent that.

Thanks for watching. Yes you could use lentil flour as well. Start off with 1/2 cup water for 1 cup flour and test the consistency if you need to add more water. Is it still "high" protien after the lentils have baked in the oven though 🤔
@Yes2LifeShow5 жыл бұрын
Good question. I know that frying or cooking at high temperatures can reduce the amount of nutrients to some extent but it's quite hard to find studies on this for different ingredients, methods and temperatures
@fnas20105 жыл бұрын
Hi.. thank you for this wonderful recipe. To the person who asked if there’s much nutrient / protein left after baking in the oven, the lentils have only been soaked. It is not edible if not cooked, so the answer to your question is no, you are not losing nutrients by cooking / baking it.

From a nutritional perspective, protein is generally not harmed by cooking (or baking).
@jodrew18454 жыл бұрын
@@Electrafingers so true, in cooking it is enzymes and certain water soluble vitamins that are lost when cooking at high temperatures. For those who have a dehydrator, this pizza could be made in there. The crust would have to be made thinner and it would take a day but you could be done. Just do the topping's separately, assemble and eat.
