Boy am I late but I finally watched the entirety of the Lightfall campaign to the end. I feel incapable of putting into words how much this series means to me so I’ll just say bravo and thank you. Thank you so very much. For your time, your dedication and allowing us to experience this story alongside you. A lot of things I had on my mind were answered with the finale and the Q&A but here’s my list of thoughts, questions and things I like to think what happened in my headcanon. The fact that the party never went to Briarcrest the whole campaign still surprises me. Bearing in mind how often it was hinted at before the party ever reached Talis’Val. I remember them even discussing going there to check in on the political unrest there. But hey, that’s D&D, you can’t do everything. Questions: What is the backstory of Vixanis who met the group both in Tallfield and Feyden and who got killed as a warning example by the Broken Sky? I’m sorry if this was answered during one of the sessions and I didn’t catch that. Who was the necromancer causing trouble in the Talis’Val cemetery as well as the planar shift, the shambler and the organ player in the catacomb? What happened to that person? Whose servant was the ferryman in the underdark? He said he works for some master. And why would this master want to collect rather random secrets of rather random people? In this final Q&A session Mark states that Dah’Mir ceases to exist since he has no champion left. Why is that? Was this mentioned at some point, maybe during Trellimar’s Get-the-mask story arc? Also what exactly were Trellimar’s visions on the way down to the mask? Did his patreon give him those? What was the story behind the characters in the visions? I gathered that the drow party was after the mask as well, Trell in the visions took the place of Dah’Mir’s champion Xan who killed everyone in the temple. But the exact events and actions and their reasons are still a bit unclear for me. Was the high priest of Tiamat banished alongside the other priests/mages or was she brought before court? What would be a just or realistic sentence for her actions? Would Adrik try to release the Dragons from their magical bonds to the Wyrm King’s throne? Following the freeing of the tieflings I think this topic would come up at some point. Headcanon: Adrik is the Wyrm King of Bresseras and the Dawn Republic and Talis’Val is officially lead by the Council of Gilds. The Independent Cities return to the Dawn Republic. I don’t know if there still is a „Champion of Talis’Val“ and who would receive this title. But it sort of felt like a title without meaning anyway towards the end of the campaign. It feels natural to me that Adrik would try and slowly establish something similar to the council in Bresseras. Formally the Wyrm King would still be in charge but practically the kingdom is run by his court/the council and the king heavily relies on its decisions. Maybe one day the party returns to the underdark to meet up with Gurli, bring that cleric of Avandra back to life and establish diplomatic and/or trade relations with the duergar and svirfneblin. Also I’d love them - in honour of Trellimar - to try and return to the temple (if that’s ever possible after it collapsed), make detailed notes of the story of Sehanine and Dah’Mir and bring those to the surface. If the temple is lost forever I guess the characters maybe have some notes they made after they returned from there. Then those notes and the character‘s memories must be enough. Mark made it clear that it would be extremely difficult to bring back Trellimar. The group would need to find him in the nine hells, get to him and remove his bond with Asmodeus using Lady Amirilith’s artifact. I can only hope that this would also return Trellimar’s personality to its former self but somehow I doubt that would happen. I know there is the „Lightfall’s Descent“ campaign that delves into this matter but I didn’t watch it yet. Having reached her life’s goal - avenging her parents and freeing the entire tiefling race - Jiǔtóu is in an existential crisis at first. As she experiences that simply proclaiming freedom for all tieflings isn’t enough she helps Adrik establish factual equality. This of course means massive changes to the social, legal and economical structure of Bresseras and it likely takes generations to get rid of the century-old hatred and racism between tieflings and dragonborn. Alongside those efforts Jiǔtóu would start training people in martial arts and Guanyin’s teachings. I also can see Jiǔtóu travel to the Unbroken Empire to meet up with Testament and Librum and learn about „the path“ and in return teach them her martial arts (and also Librum how to be a tiefling). And maybe one day she gets a potion to age her a couple of years. I guess Reynard and Grunka don’t have children because in my head Grunka wouldn’t want that and she would be a terrible mother. But as is mentioned in the Q&A Felton might have kids someday. I like to imagine Reynard telling them stories of his adventures and sort of being the „cool adventurous uncle“ to them much like Felix was to Reynard. Maybe he teaches them how to use a crossbow, track animals and hunt them, and maybe he takes them on hunts when they are old enough. It’s hard for me to imagine Cam as a good father or husband. However, Mirela seems to be the one person who can make Cam behave like a responsible adult. And she seems to like him more than he annoys her. So I guess it will work somehow. And there is the entire Buckland family. They will make it work as they always do. I love the idea that Elora visits her friends on a regular basis and gathers them for reunions on any occasion that’s suitable enough for an excuse. Finally Jiǔtóu can enjoy noodles on a regular basis. Now farewell Lightfall, Arrak and all your amazing characters and stories. You hold a special place in my heart. I will think of the adventures now and again and I hope I’ll do so with a smile. Now welcome Aerois and all the stories you might hold ready.

In defense of Kim saying that they wouldn't make a group name for themselves because they're not like the Critical Role group (which Mark seems to have misunderstood, it's okay), I don't think she means that High Rollers is not as "bold" or "proud" as the Critical Role group to name their band of heroes, I think she means that Cam and the group (or at least Elora, Jiutou and Trell) wouldn't have thought to knowingly name themselves unlike what Vox Machina/The Shits (and now the Mighty Nein) did. Mostly because both parties (character parties, not player parties) take pride in their work differently, and also because the evil antagonist groups in their own respective worlds presented themselves in different ways.

For me the the thing about Girly was that they (or at least Cam) promised to take her with them to the surface but then they just left her there. It was a broken promise that marred my idea of the group and i wanted it put right. I would have tried to find some guards to follow our trail to find Girly and help her travel to the surface once we had saved Corrack

The issue that I had with the handling of the gurlie situation wasn't that it was never fully resolved, but that Katie and Kim countermanded trott's role playing and forced him to leave her behind.

Late reply but it was resolved after it was revealed they were down in the under dark for almost 2 weeks, travelling back to get Gurlie and taking her back to the surface would have been another 2 weeks which at that point the greater restoration scroll would more than likely not work due to it taking that long and requiring a higher saving throw to work, they could have used it on the Camalike who did know the spell who would not need to make any saving throws but the party had no idea they did, Mark did reveal this ages ago, as for them "forcing" him to leave her they came up with better points as to why they shouldn't go back, as mentioned above they were on a time limit plus if Trott wanted to he could of ignored them as Cam and went and got Gurlie regardless.

Ledrang when the DM fails to allow the player's actions and interactions to form the story that he has locked in his head. When said DM has already determined that a particular NPC is simply a annoying, garbage character. Then uses that character as an emotional device drawing the players into a kinship or social situation, which one player decides to help with and is summarily drowned out and browbeaten by the others into just leaving it be. It leaves a bad taste your mouth watching the DM after the fact addressing the issue so callously and stupidly in my personal opinion- but there it is.

Minus they had every intention of going back but oh right it took them yet again 2 weeks to travel from the surface to the underdark, as soon as they healed Adric it was what like a few days a week at best before they headed off to the winter spire, after that it was yet again a few days in the city and it's off to the dwarven village to find out what the hell is going on, a few days after that it's off to save Uncie Ferehorn, directly after that it was Greybell, then they went to ask the winter spire for aid in the coming fight and then bam as soon as they get back to the city 24 hours later boom siege happens, they all agreed after getting Trell's mask that getting back to the city was the correct decision, Mark even said when Trott asked if Dal'mir could teleport them to the mushroom village you could go get Gurlie if that's what you want, Mark never stopped them from going back and getting her that was the players choice because so much was happening, Mark also made it pretty clear that Gurlie wasn't an all poweful sorcerer that was down to the community, Mark even said that the dwarves would be good to have when the Broken Sky come, so Mark gave the party every option of going back.

Ledrang you seem to be trying to bog me down with a shitload of detail that's immaterial to the point. The entire trek back was done over the course of a 3-minute half-ass dialogue from the DM, they didn't face any encounters or anything else and there you go. I tried to enjoy and be a fan of the series, and these people. The way that the game was run and the way that some of the players were allowed to conduct themselves without being corrected- led me to simply walk away from it.

I put a Crownrend in my game for one of mt players. Pretty much a carbon copy but I named him Crimerend, because his character was a lawman. They had to cut it off a while later but he's gotten a new gauntlet that acts as his new arm as well named Lawbringer. Its celestial and basically the polar opposite. White and gold and radiant damage and has the voice of a sweet motherly British woman XD
