I played college football and did a bunch of other tough guy stuff. All I ever wanted was to be a dad. I have two grown daughters and they have been the light of my life. They’re tough as nails and the kind of people I’d want to have as friends or neighbors. They’re the best people I know. I never, not even for a second thought to myself “I wish I had a son”. God is so good.

Update. I am proud to say my Grandson has been playing basketball. He loves it so much. He is shorter than most on the court. But with hard work. And lots of pratice. He made the all star Team last year. and was invited to play on a elite travel team. I wanted a boy. I was blessed with a little girl. Who started out doing beauty contests. Than went into dance. Than in middle school went into band. When she got to high school joined the marching band. Than she found her really true love. Color Guard. Color Guard was a Yuge part of the marching band. She helped her team win State Championships. And then the improbable happened. He was asked to preform at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando Fla. She was the only one from our state to win a spot. My daughter had master the skill of Rifle and Sabre. She goes to College. Gets marries. Than has a baby. A Baby boy. So I got my boy. And I love my daughter and my grandson to death. And this little boy is a Athlete. Just like his Mom.

Great story, but why didn’t they try for a third child or even a forth? I knew a girl in high school, Bryan, who had three sisters with boy names, straight up BOY names-no ambiguity. I graduated in 1992, so all my classmates were born around 1974 when people named their children names of conformity (unlike today). So four sisters named boy names stood out. Turns out the dad wanted a boy so much he selected their name before birth, only to have a girl. This happened four times and that’s when he threw in the towel.
@astronomer1213886 жыл бұрын
Well, probably they did? There's a lot of things to factor in that could have been the reason why they only have 2 daughters -- probably some health risks, or they really just want to have 2 children, etc. I think that's a much better decision and more practical than keeping on trying until you get the son or the daughter you want.
@thedeejaeebee5babee5 жыл бұрын
That's a hilarious story about the dad who tried to defy fate and ended up with four daughters. They probably have "Boy Named Sue" toughness. Same thing happened to my dad, except the four of us have conventional girl names. Ironically after his grandson was born and regularly wore him out (he lived with my parents for awhile as a toddler while his mom was deployed) . One day I was walking by his bedroom and saw him sitting down on his bed after a particularly rambunctious afternoon, looking exhausted and grateful for the break from playing as my nephew was pausing long enough to eat some Mac and cheese. I asked, "Hey, didn't you always want boys?" He replied, "Oh NO I never, never said that." "Really?" He vehemently shook his head back and forth. "NO."

It can cost a lot is also a factor. They may have wanted another one but health and cost is a big thing
