Thanks for sharing! My oldest is interested in creative writing too, I hope we get an update later how that curriculum/workbook worked for your family. 🙂 I read Just David some years ago, really liked it.

I tried the art of argument with my daughter that was in grade 8 this past year and it was a struggle, we didn't get far, but she really needs to be motivated or dragged along for somethings so I gave up. She did enjoy the fallacy detective a previous year. My daughter in grade 10 did the Argument builder and didn't mind it at all, she is a self motivator so stuck with it...the problem was the example reading excerpts were very advanced, dry, and often old language so we skipped those and just discussed ourselves to make sure she understood what the topic was.

You're lucky if you can get your kiddos to read all those books. My son likes to read, but he wouldn't be pleased if I presented him with that many books. For me though, the more books the better! Have you used The good and beautiful prior to high school for language arts? I've looked into it, since its free, but haven't gone for it. What's your opinion on the books selected fro its high school levels?

Yes, most of my children started TGTB right from the start. The hs books seem to be a good mix.
