What I find really ironic is that there are so many episodes where Mrs. Puff gets arrested, and it's almost never even her fault. This is one of the few episodes where she doesn't get arrested, and yet does plenty of stuff that would warrant her arrest.

One of the more frustrating parts of Spongebob's franderization is his boating ability. In the later seasons, he's a comically inept driver because funny, but in the first seasons he was actually a very good and attentive student, the only problem was that actually getting behind the wheel made him nervous, and his nerves would sabotage his driving test. You can sort of see that in the movie as well, where he's a perfectly fine driver because he 'doesn't need a license to drive a sandwich', on top of their being a lot more at stake here than one test, leaning into the problem being psychological.

I feel like that if I was Mrs. Puff in this situation, I would at least try to expel or ban Spongebob from the boating school for potentially permanently crippling an instructor and then insulting said instructor, before trying to "getting rid of Spongebob in the worst possible way." Yeah, this is easily one of, if not the, worst things Mrs. Puff has ever done, in my opinion. Also, I find it strange that Mrs. Puff has been arrested in nearly every episode for minor things, yet she doesn't when she tries to get rid of Spongebob. Yeah, the laws of Bikini Bottom make little sense to me.

I guess one educational question I can glean from this: Mrs. Puff says that the demolition derby is in the name of extra credit. What kind of limits are there for teachers giving extra credit? Besides the fact that SpongeBob’s actually putting his life at risk. Are teachers able to extend their reach of “extra credit” beyond the school building, organizations, and times?

The only thing I have seen related to your question is students attending an outside play for a theatre class, students attending a political debate for a social studies class, something like that. The idea is that they will learn from the real-world practical application of what they’re studying. It cannot be anything dangerous, obviously! 😂

Just so you know, pufferfish do not have this so called "inflation sac", they puff up by quickly swallowing water and filling their incredibly elastic stomachs, their skeletons are made up of many little jointed segments which allows it to adapt to the expansion. They puff up as a method of self defense as they not only look bigger and more intimidating, but also they are harder to bite and attack since spherical shapes distribute forces far better and more equally around it, just imagine trying to bit down on a very resilient and slippery water balloon without using your hands to help you hold on to it. It's the reason why most animal's skull tend to have a rounded shape, to distribute the force of impacts and pressure around the skull so it doesn't get to the brain.

Seasons 1-3 are peak SpongeBob, basically everyone agrees on that. Some people like the later ones, most don’t like them or even tolerate them. However obviously if you’re limited to school related episodes you’ll have to stretch past the first three seasons.

Well, the later episodes are usually cut into sections. Whenever you hear hate towards episodes, most of the time it's to those in Season 6-8. Even outside of quality, there's also how they're animated differently and the type of plots they have.

With pufferish they do have an inflation sack but its mostly with femal pufferfish so they can carry thyre eggs but it mostly occurs when they filled threatend and then they will expell some form of ink not like how a squid would do but pretty much uf they do inflate for too long pretty much theire skin will get very irritaded for the mist part but they dont get defalted or anything 😂they just get sore this is coming from a marine biologist in traning also love your videos ❤

@@evancredeur7498 , the difference between how Spongebob's like in S1 - 3 with how he's like in 4 - 10 (When creator Steven Hillenburg return to bring the series back to it's old roots....), is because there was 2 things that soften the blow: 1. While Spongebob has done a lot of things that are either brought upon by his own stupidness, disregard, and self-involving (As well as having Patrick along side him, most times...), it's the fact others characters brought about that fate to him, that ends with the worst of characters, like Squidward, Mrs. Puff, Mr Krabs and even his own pet Gary, as they're established to be either just as ignorant, selfish, and narcissistic as Spongebob is. Therefore, while we don't want to see any of them suffer because of Spongebob, at the same time, we realize that it's their fault for not realizing that Spongebob (and even Patrick) can't ever put two-and-two together. 2. Hillenburg was aware of the fact that being Spongebob or any of the big leading characters in real life would be a complete nightmare, therefore had episodes that showed how dangerous Spongebob's actions can cause. But with the later seasons, Spongebob is never viewed as if he's in the wrong. The show keeps trying to give us reasons to like him, when he just becomes so unbearable to be around. Therefore, leading to a lot of the episodes' plots to not even be funny anymore, but just stupid and cruel.

And you gotta admit, there are times when he's fully aware of what's going on, like that time Squidward kept bossing him around after losing his job. Let's look at all of their crimes that I can think of on the top of my head: Mrs. Puff: Neglect, possibly responsibility for murder and genocide, hijacking of a vehicle that wasn't hers, and trying to kill a student (that is literally it). SpongeBob (only in driving episodes): destruction of private property, unlicensed GTA, GTA as a whole, unlicensed driving as a whole, carless driving on multiple accounts, injury (possible murder) of at least 60 people in one traffic accident, faking a robbery, destruction of half a town, stalking, insult to injury and harassment. Lastly, many, many, MANY forms of Battery, to the point of being Schadenfreude (its a term meaning showing no empathy and sometimes pleasure in someone's pain).

There are so many channels out there reacting to SpongeBob if that's what people are coming here for. Mrs. Puff is actually also shown to be a really tough person in the episode "Salty Sponge". The Salty Spitoon which is a bar for tough guys only makes another appearance in this episode, and when Mrs. Puff enters it and hears Spongebob's laughter and sees that he is the frycook there she immediately freaks out and leaves the bar.

Yep, the episode that ruined Mrs. Puff for a lot of people. This episode is legit awful, not only because of Spongebob himself, but around this point in the series, Mrs. Puff was one of the few characters who was still at least sympathetic, so to see her try to murder Spongebob felt really off. Sure, they gave her a reason, but this felt way too mean.

Pufferfish don’t have inflation sacs; the actual way they inflate is by opening their mouths wide enough to take huge gulps of water, which they then pump into their stomachs. I believe the maximum size they can inflate to is three times their body mass. Also, since inflation is merely a defense mechanism, there is no limit to how many times a pufferfish can inflate in its lifetime.

I guess Mrs. Puff thinking demolition derby could kill SpongeBob is justified by her not knowing that Flats couldn’t hurt him (she only saw the aftermath where Flats fatigued and stopped trying to punch SpongeBob). I have seen people theorize that his immunity to getting hurt is because King Neptune made him into a god in the episode “Neptune’s Spatula”, and Mrs. Puff wasn’t around for that; only Patrick.

My late sister in law was a WA State DOL employee giving on road driving tests when I met her. One day she had a driver who wasn't doing very well so she instructed her to pull into a parking lot and stop the car. So they get in there and the driver hit the gas instead of the brake when pulling into a spot and ran the car into a small tree that was in front of the space. She then proceeded to say "oh my goodness" over and over again. My sister in law, once she had collected herself, had to try to calm the lady down. Needless to say, she did NOT receive her driver's license that day. Watching this episode reminded me of an episode of Rocko's Modern Life where Rocko is trying to teach his best friend's mother how to drive. She accidentally drives (her husband's brand new car!) into a demolition derby. Her husband and children are in the stands and when the husband realizes that's his brand new car that just drove in he goes into full panic mode which gets progressively worse every time we see him. Hahahaha. (I LOVE Rocko's Modern Life, but the episodes featuring Heffer's family (Heffer is a steer adopted by a family of wolves who intended to fatten him up and eat him but grew to love him instead) are among some of my all time favorites from that series. Heffer's family is hilarious). ANYWAY, that THEN reminded me of another episode of Rocko's Modern Life where Rocko does indeed attend a driving school for a day. The episode is called "Skid Marks" and is from the second half of the ninth episode of season one, if you'd be at all interested in checking that out. Excited to hear you mention Hey Arnold! i'm starting to think that sponge bob is try to harm Mrs. puff, during the driving test it was clear he was crashing on purpose and it was not from stress, as well as it was pretty clear that mrs puff was not liking his company, all this is the problem with new sponge bob episode

To sum up SpongeBob as a character during this period of the show I’d call it … oblivious to the point of toxicity. That said not all late season episodes are bad but this time of SpongeBob definitely was.

From what I understand about it, Stomachs can naturally expand in all animals (humans too) and a Pufferfish ability to expand is essentially just a super version of that with it being able to expand 3-5 times the size other fish stomachs can. Beyond that, it's just swallowing water rapidly. A common defense for smaller animals is to be covered in spikes and such to prevent a large predator from being able to grab and/or swallow them whole, Pufferfish is essentially taking those two concepts and going 200% on it. As far as could you pop it, yes, you could but it be the same as popping a stomach in any other animal. Be fatal without surgery. If they did have access to surgery though, I would assume it be possible to inflate again since there are surgeries like Gastric Bypass that do relate to controlling the size of the stomach but I'd assume you'd run into similar issue with over eating during a Gastric Bypass. No idea if a transplant from a donor or artificial organ is possible with a stomach but might be. I assume a society with pufferfish people though would probably develop something to help them with this.

SpongeBob generally damaged Ms. Puff to what she thinks is permanent and he just laughs it off saying that it looks better like that but for Ms. Puff it's honestly worse trying to you know.. trying to do the thing which it isn't a good thing do to to someone

Here’s something you should check out there’s fan theory by Alex bale about Mrs. puff and one part is that the reason Mrs. Puff doesn’t expel SpongeBob, despite having every right to it is because the law is forcing her to do it as part of a probation or as a criminal sentence I think you’ve seen enough SpongeBob episodes to wonder why she doesn’t do that

​Yes. SpongeBob was trying to lighten up the mood, too bad he did that at the worst possible time. And since Mrs. Puff looked thinner in her deflated form, it could've been that by "she looks better this way", SpongeBob meant that she looks more slim. It just came out dreadfully awkward.

Yes he can be aggressive when behind the wheel, but this later SpongeBob for the most part is more annoyingly oblivious and dense than charmingly naive. The new writers who took over after the original writers’ departure after season 3/1st SpongeBob movie really missed the point of SpongeBob’s character and the others.

This is also the source of a few other characters (Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs, for example) getting flanderized. Well, partially; Stephen Hillenburg left the show after Season 4, and that’s a notable point when they changed a bit.

Yeah, like any long running series, the characters get flanderized over time. I think it's fair to say that this is Mrs. Puff at her worst. I feel like later episodes tried to tone her down and redeem her character a bit, but every once in a while, this sadistic side leaks out. On a lighter note, this isn't the only time Spongebob becomes a demolition driver. In the video game "SpongeBob's Boating Bash," Spongebob is tricked into a fake driving school that "teaches" reckless driving. Even though it is considered a "racing game," most of the game's modes are comparable to a demolition derby

Seasons 7 to 8 were really terrible and mean-spirited. What’s worst is that most of these particularly horrible episodes were written by the same man, Zeus Cervas (man’s a nutcase!)

Seasons 6-9 waske the dark era of SpongeBob.😡 It's like they ruined the best characters like SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr Krabs, sandy, Larry the lobster, Mrs Puff, plankton, and even Karen (except for Gary). And those 4 seasons had dozens of bad episodes like someones in the kitchen with sandy, little yellow book, demolition doofus, cephalopod lodge, pineapple fever, squids visit, the card, choir bots, the splinter, one course meal, squid baby, SpongeBob your fired, and stuck in the wringer. 😡

SpongeBob clearly didn't mean to sound offensive when he said she looked better in her deflated state, because since she looked thinner in said state, maybe he meant it that way but just came out dreadfully awkward. His next actions, bringing flowers to her bed, prove that he didn't mean it as an insult, he just failed to read the room and winded up unintentionally sounding offensive. And quite honestly, it's WAY worse trying to MURDER someone than cracking some (I repeat, unintentionally) offensive jokes.
