I love my TRX4 and I am impressed with the overall quality of this truck, but for God's sake Traxxas, include a servo that is up to the job.

Then they can't overcharge us for parts. You can get a Tekin or Holmes Hobbies servo for cheaper or about the same price.

The problem here is the cost. If these came with a better servo and speed controller that had a good BEC they would probably have to increase the price by $50-100. I wish it came with it but paying another $100 up front might cause them to loose sales when trying to compete for sales with other brands.

For anyone else wondering why this BEC is so different to other becs, I have an explanation. For starters, the jst on the esc supplies battery voltage, whereas on the vxl 3s it’s BEC voltage. That should be somewhat obvious, but what is really bonkers is why the bec is then placed between the esc and the receiver. It’s done both to disconnect the esc’s internal bec, and act as a trigger signal to turn on the BEC. The led power module does a similar thing, where it’s red wire in the receiver is just there to signal it to turn on so it isn’t perpetually draining a battery left plugged in.

Yes, new BEC will supply the needed power to the new stronger servo.

I am absolutely in love with my Traxxas crawlers but God seriously just put the 330 servo in this thing from the factory I know you can buy this servo now you’re showing for $100 about anywhere and you can buy the 330 ounce for about 80 that’s only $30 more than you sell the factory servo for just include this not to mention in almost every test of this servo at 6 V it won’t even put out 300 ounces I love you Traxxas but you can do better than this but your installation videos are awesome

NEVER "need" a bec on any rc surface vehicle UNLESS you are using an inferior servo. Such as any savox OR savox copy. Is that what traxxas is using now? Junk heap savox servo copies.
