I love this movie. What a debut by Jordan Peele, good story, good (and creepy) characters, good cinematography, and most importantly, a badass and (for once) smart main character.

The story is just a cheap allegory for white people controlling black people's bodies. If you're a racist white person, why in the world would you wanna be black?

when in production they actually intended to end the movie with chris getting arrested by regular cops, but they deemed that to just be too dark of an ending
@loke66642 жыл бұрын
Does it matter? The black boyfriend of the rich family's daughters DNA is all over the place. He would get a couple of lifetimes for this in any case and "they tried to steal my body" is not a valid defense in court. It would take the cops a few days to track him down. But I guess as they don't show this it is less dark and maybe we shouldn't expect too much realism from a movie based on a 50s horror troupe so maybe he goes free due to that. But there is a similar better movie by Sam Raimi called "The man with the screaming brain" where half Bruce Cambell's brain get replaced with the brain from a KGB assassin and try to take control of his body. Sam himseelf play the Igor to the mad doctor performing the surgery. It is as good as it sounds.

@@lorrdy7640 its all about evidence bro, whateves the reasoning.. the cops come n see all the death in their own house + black guy running away... u think the cops just gonna let go of him by simply "They tried to kill me." ? ..

I was thinking about this today: I think the cop insisted on seeing the ID because he knew that large numbers of black males were going missing in the region. He wanted to have the exact location where Chris was last seen and who he was with in case he was reported missing.

It would be a nice touch, but before asking for the ID he actually asks Chris to show him his license, probably changing the word so they don't think hes actually racist
