Hey Dave & Connor, helpful review of the new Shure MV88+ microphone. It sure is one portable setup, I wonder if they make other cables to use on a mirrorless or DSLR cameras, that would be very cool one mic for everything? Thanks again, I'll be checking into this kit!

Totally love this mic and its flexibility. It came in handy at CES when shooting all those scenes with noise hitting you from everywhere.

@@connormccaskill oh nooooo (no iPhone anything). I shot my video with the G5X and Zoom h1 as it has no friggin audio in. Won't make that mistake again... in my video the the mv88+ audio and video was shot on the Galaxy S9.

Did you ask Shure if they have any plans to bring out a 3.5mm jack version? I think I'd prefer this to my Rode ShotGun mic due to it's flexibility

Ya same! They sorta showed me how you can use it on a normal camera using the headphone out but it’s not the same! Well see!

That's a nice looking mic. I know this is geared for smartphones with the USBc and Lightning adapters, but is there a 1/8" (3.5mm) mic jack as well. This would be a great mic for all of my workflows.

Example, I have FreeFly Movi Cinema Robot, DJI Osmo mobile 1 & 2, Snoppa Atom, Zhiyun and so on…… / Question 1.: SHURE MV88+ is compatible with any kind of gimbal Audio & Video application for my Apple i-phone instead of Shure MOTIV Audio & Video Applications (iOS & Android versions)? / Question 2 : SHURE MV88+ can use with smartphone gimbal?

I just got this as a gift from my brother in law who works for Shure. So far it's really awesome. I liked seeing this video for other examples of how to use the mic as the instructions are OK, but not as clear as this video. So far no problems with the mic or anything that it comes with. Everything is Shure/Manfrotto super high quality.

Cool mic, but 249 seems pricy.. I can get the same audio from my Blue Yeti, using the USB/Lightning pig tail.. for about 80 bucks. Granted not as portable... It would be cool if this was Gimbal mount friendly with the DJI Osmo 2. That would be a slick setup !!

While I do appreciate good memes, it seems like a waste that they didn't include a 3.5mm output for people who might want to use it on their cameras or any on-board recording if they don't want to include the 3.5mm jack.

Well technically you can use the headphone jack on the mic to plug into a camera.... but it’s not a good solution cause you have to power the mic using USB power

Ah yeah... I totally forgot you could do that. However, that brings up another question, do you need to plug it in to a phone for it to work or does it store your settings on-board?

$250! Not cheap. Looks like the audio processing is done in the app. Its obviously probably a dynamic mic and I’m curious what’s giving it the pre-amp power or if it’s any good. At $250 better have a really clean audio.

Audio processing is actually done on the mic, not in the app so you can use it with your app of choice, and its a stereo condenser mic, not a dynamic
