It’s cabbage and an eg. It tastes like cabbage and egg. LOL! It’s mild, not very eggy. A mild “sulfur-ey” cabbag-ey taste. I actually liked it! But I would never call it “bread.”

Had to play with this! Huge cabbage fan in and with almost anything from wraps to stir-fry to salad and coleslaw. Decided to attempt this like a "quick 10-minute dinner" or something easy and fast. Bought a package of shredded coleslaw mix (cabbage, carrots, etc) and one package of shredded angel hair cabbage. Put about half of each in two different bowls, used two eggs for each bowl (knowing I would add more), a teaspoon of baking powder and seasoned with garlic jalapeno salt. Prior to cooking, I did add more cabbage to both. Both versions are absolutely awesome and did purposely char/extra brown one which for me is the best one. Definitely one to throw creativity at and have fun with!
@ironrose8882 ай бұрын
If you added some more veggies, like green onions, peppers, add some garlic, ginger and soy sauce. Use a soup ladle to make small pancakes, you would have something like egg foo young. I always used bean sprouts in mine because I used to sprout my own. It’s a quick but fast dinner. Maybe add some tuna or salmon?

❤ This reminds me of my grandma's cabbage pie. Its an old Polish recipe. Lard in cast iron, garlic onion and shreded cabbage sautéed, then add your whisked eggs and flip it once to brown on all sides. Sometimes she would put cheese on top. It was really good, very inexpensive way to feed a large group of grandkids. 😂

You can probably blitz up those packaged bacon bits things in a high powered blender or a spice grinder, and that would basically be bacon powder, minus the fact that most of those bacon bits on the market are actually vegetarian and made from soy. 😂 But it would have all the flavor of bacon so it'd still essentially be bacon-y powder.

Yes! I also like using shredded cabbage as a pasta replacement. In my opinion, spaghetti squash is just too sweet for a lot of pasta sauces. Unless it's something with a very strong flavor to cover it up like a bolognaise, puttanesca, fra diavolo, etc., there's just too much sweetness to the squash and it ends up tasting kind of like you're eating pesto on pumpkin pie. Not a good combination.

@christinanilsson11224 ай бұрын
A while ago I found this swedish recipe that is similar to your recipe with a few extra ingredients and if I am honest a lot more work😅 (you roll them out) but I think it tastes like thin bread (tunnbröd In swedish). 200 g shredded cabbage which you boil for about 15 min then pour away the water and steam off some moore. Bland the cabbage in a mixer to a smooth consistency. Add 1 egg and 1/2 tsp salt and some ground fennel and cumin, blend some more. Finally add 1/2 tbsp chia seeds and 2 tbsp psyllium powder and blend again. Let the mixture set for about 10 minutes . Take 2 baking papers and divide the dough as you go in to little balls which you roll out using quite a lot of coconut flour so it does't stick (doesn't taste of coconut flour though). Then put them in a hot skillet like your recipe. This makes a lot of bread which tastes divine freshly baked with lots of butter and cheese (and ham too if you like) then roll it up. It holds In the fridge at last a week. If they have been In the fridge I usually heat them up slightly In the microwave before using it. This bread is so yummy and the coconut flour taket out a lot of the moisture and makes it taste more bready. Sorry for the long haul.😂 Love your channel! Greetings from Sweden Sweden 🇸🇪

If you find the taste of cabbage a difficult thing to ignore I would recommend using a milder type of cabbage to improve your odds of enjoying this recipe. Cabbage is a robust tasting veggie and Green cabbage is NOT one of the more mild cabbage varieties out there. I would say the two most mild would be Nappa at number two and the most mild would be Savoy cabbage so tweak this recipe with either or both to see which one comes out most to your liking. Savoy has less of the peppery cabbage taste than Nappa so it would likely be easier to mask in a recipe. Honestly though, with a recipe like this it would be hard to erase the taste considering just how much of this dish is made up of cabbage. I haven't tried it yet myself so can't I know from experience. I do know that cabbage will cook itself down quite a lot with time so I will plan on giving it enough time to do just that. Good luck! I hope my little bit of advice was helpful to someone.

So supper is over and the pizza wasn't bad at all! I would cook it completely on both sides before adding the toppings, but it held together and could be picked up. I'll do it again and try to get it crispier (I did add some Carbquick which may have really helped the texture).
