I remember hearing this song and thinking of my mother. I remember crying the first time I heard this, and to be completely honest I still cry everytime I hear this song. I was the “little one” and my life could have been so much better had she of allowed me to love her. Now this song is a tribute to a life I never lived and a life I would have yearned for. Don’t let your addictions get in the way of love. If my mom would have chosen me over drugs even once I could have had a more fulfilled life. Listen to your children. When they miss you it’s like your heart breaks in ways unfathomable ways. They don’t care about the drugs or how “different” you are. They just want to be accepted by you and truly love you. Be the best person you can be and if you’re unable too, then get help please. You aren’t just helping yourself, but helping them. As a mother myself I understand the pain man trauma of addiction but I also understand that I can and will be the best version of myself for my child. My child will never cry herself to sleep snuggling the only pillow my mom used. My child will never have to wait an entire month to know if her mommy remembered her birthday. Do better for you and your kids. I promise you, you can and will do better and be better for it. Be the you, you know you can be!

Going through a real bad breakup right now. The relationship was really toxic but there were so many good times but obsession and addiction caught the better of us. I regret never trying or really showing i cared, i was just a broken abusive obsessive man and when i finally lost everything I realized how much i truly loved her and for some reason this song is describing it all. Don't ever take the ones you love for granted because once they are gone you lose all fucks to give. And Ryver if you ever see this, Im sorry.
