Looks like the cutlass that I bought from a good friend back in highschool for $1000 back in 1981 and me and my cousin did alot of work to it, after all of the work that me and my cousin did to it, I took it to the atco speedway in Atco new jersey and it ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile without nitrous and I was hooked on cuttlass's ever since then, thanks Steve for sharing this with me , it brought back a lot of memories, I truly appreciate it 😎👍

Tough to tell if it's a real 442 as in 1972 as the VIN doesn't really tell you and there were various appearance packages to "make" it a 442. Not correct. It's not "after 1979" as the 403 Oldsmobile V8 (RPO code "L80") was only used from 1977-1979. We got the VIN (from the HOC website), we win: 3 for Oldsmobile, G for Cutlass, 87 for two door hardtop coupe, K for 350 CID V8 with four barrel, 2 for 1972 model year, R for Arlington, TX assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Arlington plant still operates today and since the end of the 1996 model year, it has produced SUVs. No tag, can't brag, but possible code 65 Flame Orange exterior paint (or painted to look like it). Oldsmobile always made solid cars and their engines are extremely reliable. I like them as much as Pontiacs, however, I only like an Oldsmobile engine in Oldsmobile and a Pontiac engine in a Pontiac. No "Olds-miacs" for me.

The 442 is the most underrated muscle car out there. And the Olds 350 4bbl is one of the most underrated engines. Olds motors were very robust, and could take a tremendous beating without injury. Lots of torque.

She's a beaut Steve, don't underestimate the 350 rocket. My 70 supreme came with #6 heads on the 350. Working for GM back in the mid 80s, I was able to acquire a factory manual that shows this year had 10.5 compression ratio. she's a little beast. Still own the car which was my sister's first and my second. 350/350 a/c bucket seats vinyl top. Glad your feeling better. Subbed.

What a great color! I could be wrong but I seem to remember Steve once mentioning the reasoning or origin behind vinyl tops. I can’t decide whether cars look better with them or a solid color. Anyway, thanks for another great video, Steve!
@440_SIXPACK6 ай бұрын
I think the origin of the vinyl top came from nascar racing. when they would take the hood off the car. They would put it on the roof so they installed a vinyl top on it so it didn’t scratch up the top of the roof.
