It was so good to hear this group again. We used to see them a lot on the old Nashville Network. Paulette used to wear what appeared to be layers of long, frilly dresses - nothing like today's fashions. I love her voice. Thank you both.

Back in the early 80's, while she was solo Paulette Carlson was playing in our local bar/nightclub and she sat down with my dad and they chatted! He said she was really nice

Oh, I do love Highway 101. This song reached #1 on the country chart in 1988. Paulette has an amazing voice. My personal favorite of their songs is "Cry, Cry, Cry" which also was #1 in 1988.

Nice request HankSnow. Love Paulette Carlson's voice. It is so very unique and not like no other. This song " is a song written by Bob DiPiero, John Scott Sherrill and Dennis Robbins, and recorded by American country music group Highway 101. It was released in June of 1988 as the first single from the album 101. The band is from Los Angeles Yes, you are correct Hwy 101 (PCH) goes from LA to Olympia, WA. Thanks for the reaction Don.

I do not understand what made you think of this as a one night stand. To me, it sounds like a song about a budding relationship..She asks if it would be all right if she stops by, because she's got it bad. She's ready to hear those three words from him for the first time, but she makes it easier by telling him all he needs to say is one word, yes.
