I’m glad you got the call on this one. I know your patience and experience was a help and hopefully he appreciated not being ridiculed or yelled at. Hopefully he tells the drop off site about the lines being switched and they correct it before the truck goes out again! Thanks for all you do! 👍💕👌

I’ll never understand people who think it’s a good idea to belittle or talk bad about the customers who pay their bills. I am in the business of helping people when they screw up or are having a bad day, so it would be pretty dumb to then get upset about it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm with you @Bobbie. Not only did he help the drive with two issues (how to chain-up and the reversed switches), but I also learned how to chain up. I've never had to chain up in the truck, just in my own cars. Now I'll be (?) ready for when I finally encounter it. Casey, you're an angel on the road!

We need more people like you in the world Casey. Not only dealing with an inexperienced driver (not his fault training is lacking these days) but you took the time to help fit the chains and, crucially, explained how to fit them properly and what each element did. And on top of that, giving confidence to the driver that not only were they near their destination but also the topology of the road ahead so hopefully no more surprises for them - on what must have been proving a disappointing and difficult day so far. Patience and the ability to explain something in terms that can be understood by the recipient are skills found to be somewhat lacking these days Love your channel and my favourite on youtube by a very long way.

You're a very patient teacher, and it was very nice of you to help him put his chains on while also teaching him. Didn’t know what the inter axle lock was either, that comes in handy on steep driveways. I think it’s a little more than just not knowing how to put chains on. But that’s what the driving schools are pumping out hourly. Bare minimum.

I hate to chain but it seams like every time I do I end up teaching a driver how to do it. And I usually end up giving them a handle to tighten the cams, I collect them when I find them. At least you are off the road and don’t have cars flying by next to you and in the dark of night with wind and snow.

For anyone out there who has never put chains on, but who has them in case of future need, now is the time to practice. Put them on and take them off on a dry parking lot. Repeat several times. Then, do it again in cold weather. This way, it won't be overwhelming when you _need_ them.

Very nice of you to show that guy how to chain. They don't teach that in most truck driving schools and I think they should. I've been surprised by how many truck drivers I run into on passes that have never thrown chains in their lives. We all need a hand sometimes so it's good to take a minute and help others out. I always carry a pair or two of triple railers and seven singles. Washington requires five singles, Oregon requires six. I only throw triples when I have to because they are harder to hook up, but the traction advantage is well worth it in really poor conditions. When I was hauling chips at 105,500 I usually had to throw the triples to get up to my house and get turned around when we got more than six inches in a day and I didn't have the time to plow my lot.
