My wife and I dragged my 81 year old mother along to the clean up on Sunday. First “non-routine” outing since my step-father passed earlier this year. She wasn’t happy with the amount of trash in the camps, but was ecstatic to be working with a bunch of dedicated people. I wanted to throw out a huge thanks, not only to the organizers but to all of the volunteers for working together to make a difference.

Great job by you and the rest of the volunteers doing your best to keep the areas clean ( as someone who is currently homeless , I want to apologize for the disgusting mess left by those who don't care ) . 👍 Oregon is very lucky to have you and the other volunteers. What a shame that this clean up process is repeated again and again. Seems like there is something that could be done to prevent the homeless encampments from every getting to the point that they do. Thank you Casey for all that you do. Looking forward to more videos about the big clean up. 👀

I have camped out there a lot. Living in the valley, dad in a nursing home in Bend. I used to come over about three times a month to see him. The only way that anybody knew I camped there was if they saw me when I was there. I never left anything behind. And have picked up quite a bit of stuff. It sickens me to see how they destroy that area like it’s their right. Entitled homeless is what my brother calls them.

Casey, time after time, as I watch your videos, you really shine in the type of person you are. I know you do a lot of rescues FOC which this channel helps, but to see you interact with those people in their time of need, to see how you josh with your friends on trips, to see how you call out and maintain integrity when it might otherwise be hard for others... And now to see the volunteering side of clearing sites using your equipment, it's amazing to see. You're a good person through and through. Thank you for showing this, and a big thanks to all the volunteers who follow on to clear the physical trash.

A big thank you Casey and all the volunteers that help keep our public lands available to everyone. I just don't get it. If I was homeless, I would try and be under the radar as much as possible and definitely not bring negative attention to myself. I understand that some homelessness is due to mental health issues and drug addiction. Homelessness has been an issue for hundreds of years and at times, many elderly were the majority of homeless persons. In many parts of the country, people were sent to jail for being homeless or instructed by the courts to leave the area or face incarceration. Social Security was created to provide some substance of living for aging persons, as many didn't have retirement plans or resources. I guess the public will continue to play wack-a-mole with these encampments until a policy is enacted to seriously deal with homelessness and the access to affordable housing. Thanks again Casey.

So many public and commercial camp grounds are choked with folks who live in dilapidated, broken down RVs and trailers. Makes the camp grounds look like hobo camps.
